PJ Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea

One of my all time favourite artists. This is the most accessible of her great albums but I probably prefer Dry, Is This Desire and Let England Shake. All four are pretty much perfect.

I came on board with Mother’s Milk and this is where I got off.
Were you not a fan of this one?

This was my introduction and I really enjoyed “Under The Bridge” quite a bit. RHCP’s is a weird band for me. I think the whole be is extremely talented and I love their sense of humor and fun and while I think I have at least mildly enjoyed most of their singles throughout the 90s and 2000s I can’t say I ever found any of their albums as a whole super appealing. They are a “Greatest Hits” band for me but I really enjoy a handful of their tunes (my all time favorite Chili Peppers song is “Soul 2 Squeeze” off the Coneheads soundtrack). Also, while I preferred John Frusciante RHCPs to Dave Navarro RHCPs I think I enjoyed all the singles on One Hot Minute (and the Beavis & Butt-Head Do America cover o “Love Rollercoaster”) just as much as the singles on BSSM.

I like this one fine. But overplayed, no desire to listen to them after this. Did like I’m With You, though. I also like Uplift Mojo Party. Not sure I’ve listened to anything earlier.

I really don’t like this chillis album. I have some fond memories of By The Way and Californication but I doubt I’d ever reach for either anymore.

Shocking live, Kedis’ voice was so weak. Mars Volta as support blew them off the stage but got booed for being “weird” 🙄
The idea that any band is weirder than the chili peppers is kind of laughable.
