The three or four times I’ve done Karaoke, it’s been A Boy Named Sue or Ring of Fire.

I have a few, my first choice is Danzig “Mother” but I also enjoy Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time”, Beck’s “Loser” and George Michael’s “Father Figure”The three or four times I’ve done Karaoke, it’s been A Boy Named Sue or Ring of Fire.
Do you recreate the Live 93 music video when you do Mother?I have a few, my first choice is Danzig “Mother” but I also enjoy Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time”, Beck’s “Loser” and George Michael’s “Father Figure”

I mean, one time I was wearing a western style shirt with pearl snaps and ripped it off and threw it into the crowd (and by crowd I mean the dozen people waiting for their turn to sing).Do you recreate the Live 93 music video when you do Mother?
Close enough.I mean, one time I was wearing a western style shirt with pearl snaps and ripped it off and threw it into the crowd (and by crowd I mean the dozen people waiting for their turn to sing).
The bouncer interrupted me mid performance and sternly requested I put my shirt back on. Which I did without missing a beat.
Same kind of thing happened to me with Weather Station right before this, but a first listen of Joni is like a fever dream... like I can't focus on what she's saying - something about her voice and cadence makes it hard for me to follow her. I have the same problem with Shakespeare too.
I've told y'all, I ain't a smart man.
So, she's a German actress. Looking at her IMDB, I've seen two movies she was in Ready to Wear and Prospero's Books. I remember neither as I have not seen them since they came out before my oldest was born - so you know a whole lifetime ago. Evidently, she is quite the popular Cabaret singer as well. She has a pretty nice sized discography going back to 1986. She is famous for covering Kurt Weill who I don't know but is evidently a big influence on all the artists she covers here and yes The Divine Comedy is the support on the entire album.
Kurt Weill is great. The Divine Comedy is not great.
