My band in high school used to cover Ballad of a Useless Man because we were punk and the title sounded great
They have often been lumped in with some of the other proto-punk bands like the Seeds, though I would definitely put them firmly on the pop side of pop-punkI’ve always liked their music but their shtick was a bit much. The book calls them pop-punk which is… interesting.
I can see Porto-punk … just pop-punk seemed a little revisionist to me. They seem pretty firmly pop-psychedelia to me but what do I know? I mean Shake It Up wouldn’t be out of place in an Elvis movie with bikini clad women dancing at the clambake. They have often been lumped in with some of the other proto-punk bands like the Seeds, though I would definitely put them firmly on the pop side of pop-punk
Yeah, it wasn’t a bad one. Next week will probably be French guy, panic at the disco and more Slipknot.Quite the variety this week
Please no more Slipknot. For the love of God no more Slipknot.Yeah, it wasn’t a bad one. Next week will probably be French guy, panic at the disco and more Slipknot.
Is that Slipknot? Please no more Slipknot. For the love of God no more Slipknot.
Did we ever confirm if Iowa is on the list still?
Iowa is a Slipknot album yes. I just wanted to confirm that it wasn't still lurking about. Is that Slipknot?
I gave a rundown of all the nu-metal I can think of.Iowa is a Slipknot album yes. I just wanted to confirm that it wasn't still lurking about.
My copy of the book only has s/t Slipknot. Korn is in there too with Follow the Leader. No ICP. Only the one Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.
Fanxy Free?I think I might even appreciate that awful Fanxy Free album VMP foist on me after listening to Rollin’ or Nookie.
Fanxy Free?
I think some things are there because of cultural importance and because they are relevant to a serious conversation about music. I would have put Incubus in and been like well that’s enough numetal. lol.
Deftones?I just checked, Incubus is here too.
