i just posted this in the secret santa thread, but it feels appropriate to post here as well where it can be appreciated some more. this is some great stuff from the third man store in detroit courtesy of @ranbalam. another friend picked me up some records from the nashville store a couple years ago, so despite living in minnesota, i’ve got records now directly from both stores. pretty cool!

Day 25: Got Presents? Secret Santa?
Nope....and Nope. My Secret Santa gift was delayed...so I haven't gotten it yet. I assume it was backed up by the whole Warner Bros. distribution fiasco that is still a thing.
My family also knows not to buy me records.
So I'm gonna go with one of 2 packages that arrived from Amazon last night but I didn't open until this morning. (Richard & Linda Thompson – Shoot Out The Lights was the other).
This isn't what I originally pre-ordered on Amazon months ago, either. Nothing about the original listing mentioned "Selections From" - the CDr they sell has 40+ tracks...this has 18. The FYE 2 LP exclusive has 35 tracks...and is also subtitled with "Selections From..." (I have ordered this version, too)
Also being a Warner release, I think this was also delayed...and created some confusion on what the release actually was.

I don't play this enough as it doesn't always quite fit the family Christmas spirit. But I enjoy it a lot so was good to spin it while everyone else was out.
