Day 11 - Meet Me In The Bathroom

The Kooks ‎– Live At The Moth Club 05.09.2018 (Lonely Cat, 2019 RSD Pressing)

Perfect opportunity to replay this. A fantastic release for last years Record Store Day, The Kooks at the legendary London venue, The Moth Club. Its a brilliant throwback to their early 2000's hits, listening to it is like being back at school!

The Strokes "Room on Fire"

I mean this is kind of hitting the nail on the head! I really love this record, I had a cassette with Is This It on one side and Room on Fire on the other and I played it to death! This record brings up A LOT of interesting memories, both good and bad!

Day 9: This one's a grower

Panda Bear - Person Pitch

To honest, this one is still growing on me. It very much hasn't "hit" yet but I'm intrigued enough every time to keep trying it every once in a while. I picked this up as my last record during my initial run with VMP. Unfortunately every copy I received was unplayably warped. Almost two years later, it's finally flattened and I can keep at it.

Are you an Animal Collective guy? You have have to work a bit to find the melody but it’s there buried under of cacophony on sounds.

Well, when you choose to play all Black artists for BHM, “2000s indie rock” stands as a sizable challenge. I only have one record that covers both criteria. I know this record has already been played, but I’ve gone too far to stop now.

Yeah, this was my only option for the same reason. Not really indie rock, but RZA of Wu-Tang Clan is in the book, so I could have made it work.

I thought of another band that would kinda work, anybody remember The Dears? They came up during that Arcade Fire led Montreal scene renaissance. No Cities Left was a pretty good album.

the dears never did get as big as i thought they would. their live album, thank you good night sold out, is pretty good. i put the opener, an 11 minute slow burn called autotomy, on a few mixtapes back in the day. i'd link it, but i can't find that version anywhere.
