Stopped by the new Treehouse location off I-91 on my way to my parents.

I feel guilty for taking up this much of the basement fridge 😅

I’m normally closer to Carlton, but when in the neighborhood I swung by the Deerfield place this summer. It was under construction, but obviously massive… so what on earth do they have planned for the place? Well, they announced this week that they’ve installed a world class theater. First performer - Iron & Wine - apparently sold out instantly. Those guys print money.

That makes sense. It looked like an old office building or high school of some kind that they were using but only like the back half of it. I was wondering what they were going to do with the rest of it

Yeah. Because I have too much time on my hand, the first thing I did was look up the real estate listing for it. It was a weird office/industrial headquarters. It’s freaking massive! I wonder what else they’re going to do with it.

Anyway, enjoy the beer (and cold brew).

December 24: Nita Beer Company

Nita Beer Company Tears of a Sasquatch

Style - Flavoured Stout

ABV – 5.8%
Colour – Black
IBUs – ~25
Legend Rating - Adventure - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Description: It's a little known fact that the infrequent cries of the sasquatch produce a delicious concoction of coffee and coconut. Finding some of this liquid gold is on par with the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, a unicorn in your backyard or a sighting of the elusive sasquatch :)

Andy cold brewed and pasteurized Equator Coffee espresso and then blended with our Perfectum stout that was dry-coconutted (like dry-hopping but with coconut). The result is a beer that Andy would love to drink for breakfast but Bridget says he can only drink after noon (except for what Andy calls Quality Control).

Ingredients – Water, Malted barley, Yeast, Hops, Coffee, Coconut

i grew up in South Deerfield. This building used to belong to Channing Bete. They were a publishing company. This facility was both corkage office space and publishing. They ceased operations in 2019.
