Upcoming/Recent Shows

MJ Lenderman & The Wind and Wild Pink at The Neptune last night was fantastic. Met up with @Dead C IRL too. I imagine he will have some kick ass photos to post at some point but until then here’s the photos I took with my phone from the balcony.

It was great to finally meet you. How did you like the Neptune? The first time I went there it was a Landmark movie theater. We saw 25th Hour and Ed Norton came out and did an interview and Q&A or something (it was a SIFF event and I barely remember it). Next time I went there was for a Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks concert after it switched in 2011.

I'll post some shots in here so you can see them

Here's a clip of the show

Likewise! Nice to put a face to a handle. The venue was great! I don’t think there is a bad seat and it sounded phenomenal. A great night for guitar shredding!

I like it, too. It's super convenient from where I live and means I don't have to head downtown or to the hill. It's a good size. It's bigger than Neumos and smaller than The Showbox but with better views and space than either. It's a mid-size venue that feels spacious yet intimate.

That place is basically the Aladdin in Portland, but the Aladdin hasn't taken out the seats. Only standing room for the first 15-20 feet or so from the stage. It's a great room too.

Saw the Michael Shannon/Jason Narducy play Fables of the Reconstruction Tour last night and outside of REM reuniting and transporting back to 1985, this is as close as it gets. More loving tribute than a straight cover band, just an absolutely fantastic 3 hour, 39 song set. Jeff Tweedy joined to sing There She Goes Again and Scott Lucas of Local H to sing Cuyahoga. There are a couple of times I closed my eyes and it was REM. Magical show

Just back from seing sturgill simpson and that was awesome. Hit the stage at 8pm sharp without a support band and played straight till 11 with very little stage Banner.
Got something from every Album ( except juanita I think), some long James and Covers of Songs by allmann brothers, doors, procol herum, william Bell and eddy murphy
