Vinyl Me Please Anthology

So how are y’all feeling now?
Still a bit disappointed overall. Really wished they didn’t include 1+1. I don’t care if that album hasn’t been on vinyl before. It’s an album I would never care about getting. Even if it was a VMP exclusive, I wouldn’t buy it.

I wanted something like Sextant, Man-Child, Thrust or Secrets instead!

Ok so im not helping here at all BUT when I think of Herbie, Wayne Shorter is always at his side. He mentions him all the time in his book, when I saw Herbie live he talked about his 'good friend Wayne' and even now when he occasionally does interviews or videos, Wayne is there (This is one that I linked on the jazz thread a couple weeks ago of them just chatting).

Now I haven't heard the album, but at face value Wayne Shorter plays an incredibly important role in Herbies career, so its a really nice gesture to include it and I can completely see why Herbie would have chose it.

does this mean AP is no longer doing the headhunters 200g

i know that with maiden voyage music matters is barely making anything anymore and when they are they are like 60 bucks per single LP. but i feel like QRP working with VMP and AP having headhunters might be weird

nevermind looks like this is Gz but plated at RTI so QRP is still going to do its shit

All eight titles in this VMP Anthology had lacquers cut by Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, CA. Takin’ Off, Maiden Voyage, Head Hunters, The Piano and Future Shock were cut AAA from analog tapes. 1+1, and The River, which were recorded digitally, and Live Under the Sky — which has been resequenced at Herbie’s request — come from master digital audio. The albums were plated at RTI, and pressed at GZ on black 180g vinyl.

I can't wait to see the "pressed at GZ just for @Mather " in fine print on the bottom of the release page
NAILED IT
