I am with you. After all the work our administrators had to build this forum in less than 48h, there is NO WAY I go back to a VMP forum.
Not even to cause mayhem and complain about their inevitable regular fuck ups?

Nop, I think I am done with VMP. They can release their Fiona exclusives, QOTSA or Frank Ocean AoTMs or whatever. It's not a question of products now, it's a question of people and the respect they give, or they don't give actually, to some of their most loyal customers.
I’d like to think I’m this principled but a QOTSA Songs For The Deaf would lead me to ditch all principles...
I’m sad at that too @Lee Newman! Here’s hoping that QOTSA just so the right thing and repress it themselves first to save me from myself...
It's certainly a bootleg.
I like these reports, you're like a soldier or an explorer who's been to a strange land I will never see with my own eyes. I sense an exhaustion, and a relief to be back home. Tell us more, brave @Lee NewmanSo, as the posts that excuse the cover label and other problems with anthology build over on Facebook, I just want to apologize for being that guy two years back. They really are obnoxious.
Also, how in the hell is the one guy who has been trolling @Enoch not banned already?

A brief thought on the general anthology thing. As an international I would gladly take an option to receive the whole lot in one delivery if I could save say $30 or such. Would need to wait for the last delivery and I guess it kills the whole game changer thing but yeah. Carry on.
Yes, I think as an option, so you could still go all in and have the full "experience" if you wanted or needed to have all the records when everyone else was getting them. I'll put it in the feedback when the opportunity arisesAt least, they could have offered this as an option to reduce the price for Int'l.

Yes, and perhaps I'm being a little unfair. They have a concept to create an experience around this two month period give or take, which includes the staggered shipping of records because we don't appreciate box sets properly otherwise when we get them, we just look at them and maybe listen to the first record then get bored (I'm paraphrasing the marketing there but I think that's the gist). So we'd be missing some context with the podcasts etc and detracting from the shared experience by getting them all at once. This has gotten me thinking that the whole concept of the Anthology while ambitious really complicates things for them. They need to manage shipping, generate content, and curate a community. They could have just issued a box of six records with some add ons and facebook live events and it would have been a lot easier for them. So far the only thing that they have generated that adds to the experience is the podcast.

You're right. I'm not on Facebook so I don't have access to that side of things, which in itself seems a bit clumsy, as a premium product they could include a more appropriate forum for discussion, education etc. That would be great, if they really generated content that got you to interact more with each record. They have done some of that, podcast, but where are articles posted to the FB group? They could have encouraged Chris to generate more content. I mean jazz is a highly complex genre musically. Even people that appreciate it usually don't understand what makes it so miraculous that human beings can play this type of music. Ignoring that aspect of the music does a disservice to the musicians that put in thousands of hours to master music theory and the technique of their instruments, or just have a special gift for understanding music. Here they had a chance to change that, but don't even make an attempt to explore that.
im laughing at what i just realized is the funniest thing about the vmp forums destruction. even if they finally ymake a new one and its all shiny n shit - everyone that meant something to that site is now locked in over here. sooooo whats the point of them ever putting a forum back together. this is more hilarious when i see comments on their insta to check out needles and grooves. if i was an owner or employee of vmp id realize that now i have zero control over anything.

I would go over there, let people know a great forum existed previously and still technically does over here, no need to start from scratch, you could join us, we have VMP talk and everything else a music fan/nerd/n00b could wantNot even to cause mayhem and complain about their inevitable regular fuck ups?
