the pressing plant negotiations were intense:ties to the mafia /j
they have the “ooh pretty colors” vinyl crowd and they have a bunch of the audiophile crowd as subscribers. A lot of the most vocal people who complain about VMP are still giving them money. There’s a lot wrong with the company but the quality of their cuts have been really pretty sold since starting to use good lacquer cutters on many releases. How do they stay in business?

Only reason I'm keeping my order for now is that I paid with credit and got 40% off.
I didn't realise you could use the 40% on the anthologies. That would've been such a good purchase. Really want that Impulse box.Same with the 40% off. I ordered GD, Miles, and Impulse for like $675 before tax. GD was $479 by itself without being a member.
Hopefully they double up and give me two discount codes for GD and Impulse.
It’s cool. It’s never coming out.I didn't realise you could use the 40% on the anthologies. That would've been such a good purchase. Really want that Impulse box.
I think it was either the first (that was military/first responders only,) or 2nd (that was open to everyone) 40% discount that was usable even on pre-orders. Ever since then they've mostly been no-preorders with the discounts.I didn't realise you could use the 40% on the anthologies. That would've been such a good purchase. Really want that Impulse box.
I think it was both.I think it was either the first (that was military/first responders only,) or 2nd (that was open to everyone) 40% discount that was usable even on pre-orders. Ever since then they've mostly been no-preorders with the discounts.
This is just ridiculous. How hard is it to send an email about these delays? If I didn’t get it for 40% off I’d have cancelled a long time ago.Impulse's estimated shipping status on my order has gone from mid-June to mid-August. Probably a placeholder, although maybe that's indeed the timeline RTI gave them.
And yes, it will be pressed at RTI, according to Impulse's updated sales page.
No official communication about any of this, of course. No, I don't count Storf talking about it in discord to be "official communication"; you still occasionally get someone coming around completely oblivious to everything that's been going on because VMP has to date not communicated any of this in email, text, social media, etc.
I got it with a 40% code and still canceled. Absolutely no regrets, and I still would've had to pay an extra $70-80 in duties sometime in 2025.This is just ridiculous. How hard is it to send an email about these delays? If I didn’t get it for 40% off I’d have cancelled a long time ago.
It was supposed to be like late December or January, so not really 2 month delay at all. I guess two month delay on top of the original delay? Two month delay on the Impulse box isn't too bad - summer is my lightest spinning time anyway, so it'll be ready for when the weather starts to turn. I think I'll keep my order (pending further ridiculousness), especially if Mike can get us a code.
yeah, true, a two month delay on top the last time they changed expectations. I bought it during the second 40% off window, so I can't remember if it was already delayed at that point. It was supposed to be like late December or January, so not really 2 month delay at all.
