Vinyl Me Please Anthology

They've done previous work with DMX (upcoming rotm), Redman, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, and The Roots so I'd expect something from at least one or two of them. It takes a million and Flesh of my Flesh would be my two top picks here.


Not sure you can tell a story about Def Jam without including something from Jay-Z. Not even sure I would consider this box a real "Def Jam" box if it's missing Jay.


The Blueprint would probably make sense if they want to transition into a Kanye story arc because Blueprint has IZZO on it, Kanye's first really successful mainstream beat. Graduation would probably be the dream here.


Really setting my hopes way too high for this one.

A lot, as usual, will boil down to who owns the rights for stuff and what they are willing to let VMP put in the box. I'd be surprised if Jay or Kanye are in it even though they should be.

No shot it has graduation. They wouldn't be able to resist teasing it
 
Storf says it’s more of a deep cuts anthology. Whether that means bigger artists lesser known albums or something else, who knows yet. I believe it’s gonna be 9LP and 5 albums with the most recent title being a 1LP

It basically has to be a deep cuts anthology since we all know they can't/won't drop any major bombs like Graduation.

Been waiting on a box like this since they announced anthologies but if the selections aren't good enough I might ultimately pass on it. If it's 5 picks and one is almost definitely LL Cool J, with the "I need a beat" mention, you're not leaving a lot of room. I'd think a reasonable bet would be DMX - Flesh of my Flesh since they're doing It's Dark and Hell is Hot you'd imagine they got the rights to press both. That only leaves 3 more albums.
