Are the three impulse labeled mono actually mono? For Mingus probably doesn’t matter too much, but questionable decision* for the others (if it was a decision…maybe tapes are gone).

*IMO, me likely the stereo

They're all really good and I don't like picking favorites/least favorites of art. Makes it feel too much like I'm working instead of enjoying. I wish the blue note box was made of the same material as they do the current ones. The paint has rubbed off of that one and it doesn't show as well.

I'm hoping/gonna be keeping an eye out for empty Blue Note version 2 boxes when that ships.

will try to listen today if i can and report back. or @Ghost may know! But it says mono on the jacket front and spines + the box indicates that some are mono so I don't think it's just a mistake.

Mingus is cut by Bazza AAA because the tapes weren't allowed to leave the UK apparently just as an FYI to everybody.
 
No hype card or sticker along with the merch item. I honestly don't remember. Is the podcast that's supposed to be with this out?
 
Man, this Mingus Plays Piano is so lovely. Never heard this one and frankly haven't gotten into Mingus yet as a whole outside of Mingus Ah Um which I never care to spin...

but this has just had me so blissed out.

Anyways I'm 5/5 for flat, quiet, and great sounding records so far. Gabor Szabo is next.

Also yes the mono seems to be truthful, but I wasn't paying too much attention.

Mingus Plays Piano was what I was most excited about in that box. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Made it through the whole box and I got to give it to VMP.

Flawless execution on my end, I’m hoping I’m not just a lucky one and everyone gets a similar experience.

Don’t need a single replacement and everything sounds and looks great.

My Herbie box needed countless replacements across multiple records, so I’m very pleased with this experience.

Nice! Glad you had a flawless box.

I’m through Mel Brown and only have 1 being replaced. 3 of the records were stuffed into the jackets carelessly, but only 1 of 3 had some smudges & playback issue.

It’s such a cool record. I have an OG stereo copy I’ve played a ton of times. Pretty crazy how good it is considering he wasn’t a pianist. Truly was a genius

I've got one left to spin. 4 have some level of bowl to them with this being the worst
