Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Through Side A of Chico. Think it sounds better than Africa/Brass so far. 😬

Edit: reading/learning on how Africa/Brass was recording, yea, checks out. Look forward to listening again with that perspective.
That Chico sounded great and I’m happy to report Alexandria The Great sounded REAL GOOD. I’m bouncing around and haven’t done Africa/Brass yet but I’m excited to dive into it soon.
I’m listening to Africa/Brass right now. Love Coltrane and have never heard Africa before, this is a treat. I’m pleased with both the record and sound quality.
I recently streamed it for the first time and it was one of the records that really made me feel comfortable pulling the trigger on the box. Just an incredible session!

It's also interesting that VMP went with the mono for Africa/Brass (or at least that's what the sleeve says). I spun Ptah quickly and sounded great to me. I PIFed the Turd Man VBR one awhile back as I didn't like it. Will have to compare again to the 1996ish CD I have which has been my go-to prior to this.

Favorite? Least favorite?

They're all really good and I don't like picking favorites/least favorites of art. Makes it feel too much like I'm working instead of enjoying. I wish the blue note box was made of the same material as they do the current ones. The paint has rubbed off of that one and it doesn't show as well.

Which one do reach for the most?
