It was pretty rare to do Digital Recordings for anything in the mid 70s, so the reason it isn't AAA is more likely to be that the tapes were lost in some way.btw i dont think it could have been duke ellington anyway because why would they need a digital pressing when analogue productions did ellingtons 50s album masterpieces no problem
so probably something connected to the universal fire or at least lost and unable to be found.. or the tapes are far away in another continent or side of the country and they dont want it to possibly be damagedIt was pretty rare to do Digital Recordings for anything in the mid 70s, so the reason it isn't AAA is more likely to be that the tapes were lost in some way.
Bobby Timmons did die in 1974. Maybe it’s Do you know the wayBobby Timmons maybe?

I tried looking myself but couldn’t find it any where. It seems to fit all the clues. Bobby Timmons only person on the cover, semi-known pianist, last lp and he passed away in 1974.Of course neither this or The Magician are on Spotify to stream damnit.

Pretty much any of those BN 80's are great. Tone Poets too. That one is for sure a fantastic oneThe BN 80 release of Jutta Hipp with Zoot Sims is an incredible (and affordable) record if anyone doesn't already have it. Great all-analog Kevin Gray cut.
Off-topic, but after 2 years of thinking I needed VMP’s William Bell in my life, it turns out I really needed Darrell Banks. Holy crap this album sounds so so good.
Agreed. They should press this...When the F*CK are we gonna get another reggae or world music ROTM for classics or essential? We’re long overdue man
Seriously. I think we can expect to get one this year some time. It wouldn’t surprise me at least. Sister Nancy’s One Two or Johnny Osbourne’s Truths and Rights would be amazing for reggae. When the F*CK are we gonna get another reggae or world music ROTM for classics or essential? what cover art clue?My guess was Duke Pearson - It could only happen with you, until the cover art clue came up. Hard to square that circle.
Storf said the 1 clue had something to do with the cover.what cover art clue?
True I guess I meant reggae specifically. It’s been a long time, Silvetones was what, two years ago? Would also love another African music pick in the vein of some one like Mulatu Astatke or Ali Farka Toure.Jorge Ben last July for Essentials. Celia y Johnny last October. It hasn't been that long imo.
