btw i dont think it could have been duke ellington anyway because why would they need a digital pressing when analogue productions did ellingtons 50s album masterpieces no problem

It was pretty rare to do Digital Recordings for anything in the mid 70s, so the reason it isn't AAA is more likely to be that the tapes were lost in some way.

so probably something connected to the universal fire or at least lost and unable to be found.. or the tapes are far away in another continent or side of the country and they dont want it to possibly be damaged

I tried looking myself but couldn’t find it any where. It seems to fit all the clues. Bobby Timmons only person on the cover, semi-known pianist, last lp and he passed away in 1974.

The BN 80 release of Jutta Hipp with Zoot Sims is an incredible (and affordable) record if anyone doesn't already have it. Great all-analog Kevin Gray cut.

Pretty much any of those BN 80's are great. Tone Poets too. That one is for sure a fantastic one

Yes! That's my biggest thank you to VMP. Some of the other albums have been bigger gets, but I had no idea who he was until they released it and it's one of my all time favorite soul albums!

True I guess I meant reggae specifically. It’s been a long time, Silvetones was what, two years ago? Would also love another African music pick in the vein of some one like Mulatu Astatke or Ali Farka Toure.
