Not Al Green’s Call Me, but I think it’s just as good or better than the Classics Aretha Franklin And Otis Redding pick! Yes, I understand this is a Funk album, not a soul one. But this is a HUGE pick! This is Ohio Players best album + has the iconic Love Rollercoaster hit and it’s just has that sexual fantasy aesthetic! Like.....might be a little bit too good to be true 🤷‍♂️🤤

I mean, I love funk, which is sexy. Ohio Players just aren't in my top tier. I'll give em another shot though.

Mmmmm fair enough! Completely understand why Ohio Players aren’t in your top tier! I think the album “Honey” is something special though! The funk is tight, the ballads are rich and heartfelt, and the syrupy, dreamy, sensual, fantasy-like aesthetic of this album is unique! I have a feeling you’ll really like this one Dhodo! 🤝

My favorite album of theirs is actually the Superpak compilation which has a lot of early stuff of theirs that is more Northern Soul music than funk and features some tracks with Gloria Barnes. Maybe I’m not the biggest fan of their albums like Honey because it was always around in every record store and flea market when I first started buying records And I got tired of seeing their albums haha.

Also I agree that they probably wouldn’t print it due to the cover.

It could still be it, but I’d just be a bit surprised. I don’t recall VMP ever pressing any album covers with that level of sexiness on them haha

Wish I was as funny as you though Mather! You crack me up all the time! I just posted that pic because I was mad, and didn’t want to believe that VMP may avoid making Honey a ROTM, due to its album cover 😶🤨

But like I said, I’m still very keen to see what other albums will be front-runners for this 70’s Funk ROTM! 👀

NO, you posted that pic because it's the least sexy pic ever and it horrifies me on some deep personal level and VMP released it and the timing is perfect THAT IS YOUR STORY STICK TO IT
