I’ve never heard that album. Is it any good? Seems super rare.A Documentary (The Life and Times of a Great Jazzman), 1956. It's a shame they couldn't get that since it was never reissued.
I really hope it’s this! I’m listening to it now and am absolutely in love!Coleman Hawkins- The Hawk Flies High. One of two he did with Riverside. Last reissue was a MOFI in 2007.
That’s a great deal! I’ve heard great things about OJC actually! I’m going to go with the VMP exclusive however if it ends up being the pick, as it will be pressed at QRP and will be AAA and I love the VMP Classics track in general! You can get The Hawk Flies High on Amazon for the price of the old Classics rate. There's an OJC release from 2011.
I love Gábor Szabó’s Dreams! Listened to it the other day and it’s a magnificent album! I would be extremely happy if it ends up being the October Classics ROTM!

The VMP Classics ROTM will sound better though than the OJC pressing however, according to @keylime_5 !
That was more for others.
i dunno if you'd call gil scott heron soul... it was more like spoken word jazzSorry if this has been thrown out there but what about Gil Scott Heron for December?
Definitely a stretch but it’s VMPi dunno if you'd call gil scott heron soul... it was more like spoken word jazz

Wikipedia lists his first genre as soul, so he is in the runningSorry if this has been thrown out there but what about Gil Scott Heron for December? Would be an interesting choice and not exactly ”soul,” but it’s VMP so anything can be soul.
