I guess I shouldn't be surprised that GZ continues to not know or care how to properly press a record, but somehow I'm still kinda surprised every time I drop a needle on one of their pressings and I get that typical one channel crackle.

Out on Coltrane, just not my favourite album from him, but my local just got Bill Evans Trio '65 AS so I'll just consider that the July Classics.

Still does not push me into the 'buy' camp. I will give it another stream today but Sun Ship is not really in my top 10 for Coltrane

Impulse-era Coltrane with his classic quartet is must-buy always IMO. Rule of thumb. Sun Ship is great.

This is why I hate streaming, especially jazz. I find the mastering, even when lossless really flattens the sound so it just slips into the background.

Yeah same, Jazz is one musical genre I really prefer on vinyl, all analog vinyl if possible. Dynamics are so important

Been listening to Sun Ship all week--I think I'm in, even though I'll never be able to play it when the wife is home. If I successfully swap my country track for Frances the Mute, she's not gonna want to come home all month.
