I am finding it impossible to choose between William Bell, Eddie Floyd, and Darrell Banks this month. I plan on getting all of them eventually, but which one should I start with?

Here's the latest comprehensive Classics stock update, that I've seen at least, from last week. @ghostdorado is correct.

As a safety, Speaker's Corner did a copy of Bell and their pressings are really well regarded for sound and quality (I've never had a bad one) -- Banks, Floyd I don't know?

Agree with this 100%, all of them are great and if you dig one, you'd dig them all. So I'd go in order of stock available.

Bell or Floyd. Floyd is more rockin' soul while Bell has more ballads (on side 1 at least). All things being equal I like Bell slightly more, but the Floyd pressing I think sounds a little better.

I love the Banks record, but the reason I put it 3rd of those Stax classics is because I feel like the other two are more pure Stax sound while Banks' record is Stax trying to sound like Motown and it's not quite as good.

I don't think it's this, but a great 1964 jazz album is Jan Johansson's Jazz På Svenska. It straddles the line between jazz and classical. Love that album.

I don't think we've gotten a genre hint for Classics so it's wide open.

I am hoping it's a Motown record.

We've had several from Stax, Verve, Blue Note, and Impulse! So with the new relationship VMP has with Motown, it should be inevitable to have a Classics from the Motown label.

The self-titled debut album by the Four Tops ("Baby, I Need Your Loving") would be very, very nice.
