Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I think you are overestimating the effort they put towards touching up cover scans.

I'm sure there's more, that was a cursory glance through Classics.

To add to this list:

C002 - John Lee Hooker - The colors of the spine are completely different than the typical Impulse spine. Maybe the original was like this (can't find a reference image), but I find that hard to believe.

C008 - Max Roach - Has an "Inspected By..." stamp on the back cover.

Bella Donna showed up today. Some thoughts:

-been a hot minute since I've received a record where the inner sleeve is a good half inch bigger than the outer
-my copy almost looks like the mockup if I hold it right up to a light; otherwise, it's black
-the print insert is so worthless these days

shoddy package IMO, but I've always dug this album and it was easy to not swap it. also swapped classics for John Moreland and that looks great.

Going to be a little while on De Stijl.

Update on June Essentials
For our June Essentials release, we proudly partnered with Third Man Records to reissue De Stijl by Detroit rock duo, The White Stripes — highlighting the important connections between the band, the label, pressing plant & city.
Unfortunately, due to delays from COVID-19 restrictions, Third Man Pressing has not been able to operate at full capacity which has led to extended pressing timelines. As a result, this release will be delayed approximately 4 - 6 weeks.
We sincerely apologize for this delay and expect De Stijl to ship to members in July with your July ROTM. For the most recent updates, click & bookmark this page.
We’re so excited for you to hear this record. It’ll be worth the wait!

They just confirmed the other tracks in that email two days before the official announcement & what exclusives will be swaps

New Store Exclusives Entering Swaps (quantities are limited):

Clams Casino: Moon Trip Radio

Hanni El Khatib: FLIGHT

Nick Hakim: WILL THIS MAKE ME GOOD

Hamilton Leithauser: The Loves Of Your Life

As well as every available Record of the Month in our archive (including a new repress of our exclusive edition of El-P’s I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead), and a variety of store exclusives that are in our warehouse (Note: there are no “Swap Exclusives” this month outside of the El-P repress).

So I'm guessing no exclusives to go with the White Stripes or any of the other tracks?

There could be such exclusives as store drops on Tuesday or Wednesday I think. Did they usually announce such beforehand? Of course any White Stripes one would be delayed too I assume.

Never announced beforehand but when they had a forum or when they were actually active on Reddit they would tease exclusives that went with the ROTMs and they'd drop on announcement day.

Not sure if I missed a discussion about it. I always have a hard time finding the relevant pages for the ROTM. But, it seems this De Stijl is a new cut by Third Man Mastering - Bill Skibbe and pressed at third man. Seems the last few reissues were WG@NRP.

I was looking for mastering details but couldn’t find any. Where did you find those details?

Sorry, store page.

Ahh ok thanks. They usually have those in an “everything you need to know” article but not this time.
I’m guessing this isn’t AAA since they aren’t advertising it, which I believe the 2010 reissue was. Anyone know for sure?

They unfortunately aren’t always upfront about it even when it is beneficial to them. I am sure the answer will surface eventually.

The most recent pressing was done at TMP for their public grand opening. This is the one:
