Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I want VMP to make Justin Timberlake’s “Justified” an Essentials ROTM! I love The Neptunes’ and Timbaland’s production on that album. And I love those funky, sharp, effortlessly groovy “Off The Wall” era Michael Jackson tracks on Justified like ‘Rock Your Body’ and ‘(And She Said) Take Me Now’!

Also “Nothin’ Else” is a dreamy and smooth lost Stevie Wonder cut! I really want VMP to do an exclusive of Justin Timberlake’s “Justified”, but not just a store exclusive! I want it to receive the Essentials treatment!

Not buying their exclusive of FutureSex/LoveSounds is one of my biggest regrets, I'd sign back on for a Justified ROTM pick!

John Mayer was not some hot up-and-comer when Continuum was released. Room For Squares was blaring in every dorm in 2001 and Inside Wants Out was downloaded off of Napster, burned to a CD-R and played regularly in Honda Civics all over the Midwest in ‘99.

Omg, I joined VMP in late 2017 so I kind of just missed out on it! I remember discovering VMP did an exclusive of FutureSex/LoveSounds when someone was spinning it in the What’s Spinning thread! I did my research and was like “OMG, NO WAY”, when I saw that VMP really did do an exclusive of FutureSex/LoveSounds! 😱

The marble colour variant looks amazing and I remember asking people in the VMP forum about the sound quality of the pressing and they all said it sounded amazing! Like....dang! 😍😩

I joined VMP right around the same time they did this exclusive but my dumb ass never checked out the store until months later.

Not arguing that everything is essential because it matters to someone somewhere. I’m just trying to provide some perspective as one of the forums younger members. @Dead C was stumped by this choice and was wondering what he may have missed to where this could sneak in as an ROTM and I’m just leaning in to add context for these strange 2000’s head scratchers, to me this choice made perfect sense and I was surprised to see it baffled so many! So while we can laugh off a Taylor Swift ROTM as being a funny choice it could probably make a case for being essential to a large younger demographic is all. Hope that helps clarify my position.

When I joined, my dumb ass didn’t even know any of the pressings were limited. I thought they were all unlimited 😂😂😭

So I was like “I’ll grab Gorillaz, The Fugees, Notorious B.I.G. and Main Source first 😇”! Then before I knew it, Missy Elliott and Kelela disappeared and I was like “huh 🧐” and then when I realised I truly missed out on Missy Elliott’s “Supa Dupa Fly”, I was like “awwwwwww 🥺”!

But yeah, I actually was so naive and didn’t even know there were was such a thing as “limited” when it came to vinyl 😂😂😂
