Vinyl Me Please Essentials

Buena Vista Social Club is an amazing story. All these Cuban legends were forced to quit playing after the Cuban Revolution (all the clubs and bars were shut down). Years later and Ry Cooder and his team heads over there (he was originally going to west Africa I believe until last-minute visa issues stopped the band coming to America to record) and gathers them all up. Most of them hadn't played in years and most of their instruments had rotted away due to neglect. They record an album that gets released to HUGE acclaim, way more than any of them individually had before.

Just imagine thinking you had your shot and lost it, only to be given a second chance and completely exceeding your own expectations. This is completely worth of 'Essentials' in my opinion.
Some of the BVSC projects (there are other albums available) and maybe this one, was (maybe) recorded in one take. The whole backstory is what makes this great. Many of the artists are now dead, and this might have been their last chance to record.

also... buena vista social club is not doing much for me... it looks like a cool story and the music is decent. but it also feels super standard, mostly because i heard its impact more than others and its not as big an "OH SHIT IT WILL SELL OUT ASAP" as say queens or the roots were... spiritualized is the only album i really want in the next 3 months...

Hopefully VMP can skirt the rules a la Biggie. Either that or they are going to pay a big royalty check to get the usage cleared.
Maybe not get fucked, but it is the true version of it. The VMP link is to the black cover version that has it, but it is VMP here...

Storf probably read about this album for the first time a month ago on a NME Best of the 90's list while taking a shit so he likely has no idea what I'm talking about

It's such a low bar to hurdle to make a better copy of LAGWAFIS than what's out on Plain and I'm still going to spend the next three months worried about VMP's version because 1) that's how much I want to own a great version of an album I love and 2) faith I have in this process...

I moved classics over to my main subscription, and deleted essentials. I may add it back for Spiritualized. Probably not Buena Vista, although I love that story.

However, I'm now seeing two versions of classics. Anyone had this issue before? I've emailed them to make sure its cancelled.
