Yes itās extremely obvious who they are targeting with this pick, especially after the āweirdā essentials pick last time (which rules BTW).@gouis This picture makes your comment drawing a connection between Phoenix and UO so on the nose. It really brings it home for me.
which I understand but yeah we need to realize this isn't the old place, so I think there should be some leeway but also some limits too and then let's see where it is in a yearPeople want to create guess threads, have a swaps thread, etc. Basically recreate the other forum in structure.

It sounds like the sub-forum thing is being considered, but I agree right now we are just going in circles and it would be tragic if it grew into something more than a discussion, we should probably pause this convo for now.Okay, but right there that's limiting what people are allowed to post about. That's making the same mistakes that VMP was, but overcorrected in the other direction. If someone wanted to have a guess thread, they actually wouldn't be allowed to?
This is a lot of over-thinking, and this is how VMP gets too much influence over the forum.
In my original post I suggested making a sticky this sub forum for VMP that branches into a subforum for those threads. It gives everyone who wants to talk about VMP a place to do so, and everyone who doesn't just one thing to ignore.
But I'm repeating myself, and I fear if I keep doing that I'm going to come of as combative, which I really don't want to, even accidentally. I'm not even sure if I'm renewing my membership when it comes up, but I just do not like telling people How they are supposed to talk about any subject.
Not really in favor of that. The individual track threads can serve for that.People want to create guess threads, have a swaps thread, etc. Basically recreate the other forum in structure.
the store thread is taking care of the non-track and non-anthology stuffNot really in favor of that. The individual track threads can serve for that.
well I just won the unlucky lottery, because the Discogs order I just received also has the defect.not yet, I think last I checked the tracking it was scheduled to arrive tomorrow. if I get another defective copy and your new one is good I would be interested in your warped Disc 1 if something like that would even be possible, as long as it isn't too warped with the same defect as well.
, my replacement is sitting in my apartment's locker system, I have been too lazy to go get it, I have the day completely off so why even walk over therewell I just won the unlucky lottery, because the Discogs order I just received also has the defect.
I already reached out to the seller on hopes of a refund. it was mentioned on the listing that this seller accepts returns, which is the main reason I chose the seller in the first place, but I feel like a complete idiot for even trying to get a good copy of the VMP pressing... I just didn't believe that it could be as widespread as it actually is., my replacement is sitting in my apartment's locker system, I have been too lazy to go get it, I have the day completely off so why even walk over there
well it looks like I'm getting a refund from the seller, minus the $5 shipping. dude was just like keep the record, I don't want to deal with the hassle... so now I got two of these copies.I already reached out to the seller on hopes of a refund. it was mentioned on the listing that this seller accepts returns, which is the main reason I chose the seller in the first place, but I feel like a complete idiot for even trying to get a good copy of the VMP pressing... I also decided to shoot VMP another email simply to let them know that there's one more defective copy out there, not that I think they care or will do anything about it.
Any thoughts on swapping Phoenix for Byrd's 'Stepping Into Tomorrow'?
While I totally agree that I want them to see impact, I think moderating this forum with an agenda that keeps that in mind is against the mission statement for anyone who wants to participate in this forum that does not feel the same way. From my perspective, VMP themselves have indicated that Reddit, Facebook, and Twitter are their preferred methods of information sharing, and I think recreating so much of the forum they jettisoned prevents them from seeing the true impact--we are picking up their slack by default, which is not really something I'm interested in doing. But again, this isn't just my forum, and you can see why you might not want me making all the rules and strictly enforcing them.
Okay, Iāll take a leap...While I totally agree that I want them to see impact, I think moderating this forum with an agenda that keeps that in mind is against the mission statement for anyone who wants to participate in this forum that does not feel the same way.
I think you are saying that even though you feel this way you aren't forcing it on the forum. I guess I am just surprised that with the only official "rules" posted being the mission statement, there are moderators that are saying things like this that would make me feel unwelcome if I wanted to come in here singing VMP praises. I guess it is good that I am not in that group.
Co-signedTo whom it may concern,
I think the number and structure of the VMP threads are fine as they currently exist.
