I usually wait until the 16th since I think one time they said they shipped everything by then. Luckily I didn't have to this month. At what point in the month do y’all email @info if you still don’t have a shipping notice?
I messaged them this morning and within an hour got 2 out of 3 shipping notices (with no response to my message)At what point in the month do y’all email @info if you still don’t have a shipping notice?
Once upon a time they promised to have all shipping notices out by the 10th, and said to email by the 15th if you still don't have it.At what point in the month do y’all email @info if you still don’t have a shipping notice?
I'm only on side B, but I generally have to agree. Flat, quiet, well pressed. On physicals issues so far. Knock on wood that it continues that way. There are many reasons to hate on VMP, but this Spiritualized is not one of them. Fantastic.
I have several copies of this album, including a UK-pressed OP, and this is the best I've ever heard it.

I don't have any other copies to compare to, so I can't say what it's like compared to music as a whole. I think the recording leaves a lot to be desired in that department unfortunately. It's not upsetting at all, but really feels like they left a lot on the table originally and a mastering engineer can only do so much. It doesn't feel as immaculate as say Panda Bear in the dynamics department. The dynamics feel very typical of recording practices of the era in my opinion. How are the dynamics? That my main concern. My plain is flat and quiet but there are zero dynamics
The art cover really didn't do it for me personally, but I just have them all stacked up in my office anyway. The whole package is gorgeous as well. Really digging the silver detail on the front cover. The inner sleeves, the prescription information packet, even the art print (which I usually could take or leave), all really well done.

There is certainly some brickwalling happening in the recording.I kinda expect that to a degree and that’s fair so instead I’ll ask, are there any dynamics? Cuz there sure as hell aren’t on the plain one!

I just moved from The Individual to Broken Heart.
On Broken Heart you can really tell the recording flaws. It's better than most of the album, has some dynamics movements and little bit of sense of space. The vocals actually sound quite nice. The orchestral parts are building, but not with the authority I would expect them too. Very clearly recorded into a computer, possibly with more affordable or poorly planned mics.
And it helps explain why The Individual sounded the way it does. I wanted to be dizzying soundscape of chaos surrounding me. Instead it kind of felt like being pushed into a single vibrating wall of sound. Everything just bleeding together and coming at you full force. And unfortunately that's a lot of the album. Could be these amazing, dizzying scenes, but instead they just sound like a bunch of instruments trying to play over one another, and everyone ending in a tie as they run into the brick wall... which hits you right in the face, lol.
It's still a great album. But recording quality and dynamics are not anything to showcase.
Because Big Boi will be the December R&HH ROTM. By the time Sir Lucious Left Foot gets released, Big Boi would of had to of been on an Essentials ROTM (Stankonia), and a Rap & Hip-Hop ROTM (Southernplayalisticadilacmuzik)!
Do you get where I’m coming from? Unless you can prove that Waka Flocka Flame will have been on an Essentials and Rap & Hip-Hop ROTM!
This proves that it won’t be Common for the October Essentials, due to the Rap & Hip-Hop ROTM clue Storf just gave!
Anything for you Johnny!Sit down at the feet of my recliner little whipper snapper. The year was 2000, and Like Water For Chocolate was a BIG deal.
Storf is currently doing some grade A shitposting on the VMP twitter account:
I think it is still Lady Sings The Blues! I really do think VMP chose that album to be the Essentials ROTM! We’ll have to wait and see I guess when they announce all the ROTM’s!So reddit is thinking he might be serious and that instead of it being Lady Sings the Blues it's Velvet Mood, which is a pretty random ass album to pick for Essentials. Like, Miles Davis Sorcerer random ass.
I mean, since he literally said favorites on twitter don't mean anything right before that I wouldn't put too much stock in it. If it were Classics, a second tier album would be more likely, for essentials agree that'd be weird. We'll see either way I guess. So reddit is thinking he might be serious and that instead of it being Lady Sings the Blues it's Velvet Mood, which is a pretty random ass album to pick for Essentials. Yes, this!
