Vinyl Me Please Essentials

Just received my copy yesterday. Resubbed after 3+ years away. I laughed to myself when I saw they’re using the same flimsy mailers with one piece of tape. Luckily, my copy arrived flawless. Sound is pretty solid. Nice bottom end. Probably as good as a hip hop record from ‘91 can sound.

I have to say, the jacket is excellent. They really did a great job with it. Probably sticking around for Labcabin and dropping the sub again.

1st lp quiet and clean. No warp.
2nd lp same except there’s a teeny tiny warp. Both were cleaned prior to listening.
I’m a little surprised that this is still available, but it looks like most of this years ROTM are still available.
Anyway, VMP did a solid job on this. I’ll probably do an A/B with my other pressing.

Justice could be an interesting one. VMP just released the details and it looks like a new pressing

45 RPM (the normal pressing is 33 RPM) with the only track list differential is D.A.N.C.E. is moved to Side A of DIsc One. The 33 RPM is pretty huge sounding as is, so while I'd think generally a 45 RPM is going to play out better all other things being equal, it's a tough bar to meet. I'll be keeping an eye on reviews for sure.

Interesting. I'm considering upgrading, but not sure it's worth it. My other one sounds real good.
