You gotta find one that buys more vinyl than you do.

Looking specifically at 2005, man there are so many Indie albums I would absolutely love over LCD Soundsystem.
It's a shame that the clue pretty much kills any of them.
EDIT: I mean look at this shit! 2005 indie rock albums - Google Search
I think the fact that it’s July to September is because that’s the 3rd quarter of the year and they’ve been announcing quarterly for awhile now.i think the fact that july to September is confirmed no channel orange, when july will literally be the 10th anniversary and thus probably the only chance they could get at that album.... means we are never getting channel orange
no i know that... but i am saying that july was probably the closest we could have gotten since its the 10 year anniversary..I think the fact that it’s July to September is because that’s the 3rd quarter of the year and they’ve been announcing quarterly for awhile now.
It would be a big enough release that wouldn’t necessarily need an arbitrary anniversary for VMP to choose it as the ROTM. If VMP ever got the rights to reissue Orange. It would be the ROTM, maybe in the 4th quarter, maybe next year, maybe in five years. Probably as soon as they could possibly release, they would.no i know that... but i am saying that july was probably the closest we could have gotten since its the 10 year anniversary..
so this year was the final year they could attempt for it.. and we didn't get it
It would be rad if VMP did Dreamboat Annie.
also i think this would fit... its supposed to be 3 different kinds of rockI'd love to see Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak. Would be a natural group for the listening notes and I don't see a recent US reissue at all.
There was a widely available Jailbreak reissue a few years ago (I have it) - Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak. Totally decent, but could be improved I’m sure.Acclaimed Music

For 1976, it seems wide open.

My initial thought is that it'll be the Modern Lovers album, but there's a number of directions this pick could go.

Part of me kinda wants them to do some totally cheesy classic rock like Steve Miller or Boston or Doobie Brothers or whatever![]()
It's going to be a Steely Dan album and then I'm going to burn the building down. You guys, you're over thinking it. 2 of them are "featured" in the book about NYC music, the third is almost certainly gunna be a NYC music adjacent. It's Ramones or Modern Lovers. YOUUU CAN PUT THAT PUPPY TO BED

Those smooth pristine melodies and witty, biting wordplay can’t be destroyed. They didn’t name one of their records Countdown To Ecstasy for nothing. Whatta way to soundtrack your self immolation! After I pour hot cooking oil on them in order to staunch the flow of Steely Dan into my earholes.
Gimme some Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak! With the die cut cover! Probably doesn't fit the rest of the clues but WHO CARES?Mostly curious to see what the 1976 album is. Modern Lovers maybe?
