I also went with the 2xLP for Bandana. Do I think it's overpriced? Abso-fucking-lutely. But I'm also imagining I'm going to see resale prices on it and hate that I didn't pick it up at retail price. This director's cut better have some significant differences or I'm gonna feel like a sucker.
 
There is no way this Outkast situation isn't going to be an outright fiasco. I bet you anything they didn't press enough, sold out, and now are trying to come up with some way to fix it... Which is why people are getting emails about Ivy Sole suddenly being in swaps. I fully expect I will not be getting this record this month.

If I don't get Outkast and UGK I will be getting a refund that's a damn promise
 
They had to know OutKast would sell out fairly quick and they'd need some sort of plan in place to minimize oversells from the get-go. I doubt offering as a swaption a previous ROTM that isn't exactly a huge mainstream release is that plan. If something like De La Soul somehow materialized back as a swaption, then maybe we'd be on to something.

But for now, I'm not gonna get worked up over it.

A complete fiasco. This is where their underpressing is going to bite them in the ass. If they won’t concerned about selling out the first month (and have a neat stat to tell investors), they could have printed 10,000-15,000 of these and moved every last one of them within a few months. Instead they pressed 3-4K and want their customers to play record roulette.

Yeah, I've been signed up for RHH since the beginning and have every release with no swaps. It's not my primary track though (left that as essentials since I have all 3 and don't swap), so If I don't get this Outkast album I'll be pissed. Still it's early and we're just drawing conclusions from that one email (and VMPs consistent screwups) so hoping theres no issues.

I think this is an imaginary controversy? I haven't seen any evidence that this might happen, just people assuming the worst because VMP has dropped the ball in a few other places. Al Green sold out entirely last month and nothing happened

I didn't even read through the thread, I was just being dramatic. I am kind of mad that it sold out so quick though, for those who legit wanted it but couldn't swap in time.
