Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

I would not want it to be Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint. There are some amazing tracks on there like the Beyoncé assisted “Feeling Myself” and “Want Some More” but overall, half the album are skippers for me. And I can’t stand some of the heavy mainstream pop sounds throughout this album...😝🙅‍♂️

Megan Thee Stallion though! 🐎🤠🧰💰🐎👌💎

I'd be equally happy with either Nicki or Megan. I'm a huge Nicki fan and actually have seen her live twice. Pinkprint is the album where she found the perfect balance between her Rap and Pop sounds and honestly I don't think there is a skip on there for me. PLUS VMP included it in their Essential Cash Money albums for their article last year.

You guys really think Nicki wouldn't be essentials? I don't want it but with all of her hordes of stans, are none of them vinyl buyers? Seems like they could sell a ton, but maybe her enormous popularity doesn't translate to vinyl.

Yea it doesn't or at least it didn't with Queen! The physical sales were so bad she had to add a gang of t-shirts with download codes halfway thru week 1 to get her numbers up then Billboard said no (cuz she did it mid-week) and she flipped cuz Travis Scott's counted for Astroworld (he had the plan in place before the sales week started) So yea I don't think they do well which would explain the lack of repress or pressings on most of her projects

My first guess would be The Mars Volta. But is When the Pawn already in the bag? That whole thing is an enigma. I thought they were sitting on a press of it for sure. But maybe not.

My gut feeling is it probably will be Fiona. The obsession people seem to have with her in general is crazy it would be a big coup for them. Also they have a working relationship there with her

That VMP 90s Hip Hop list is just too much

So I saw the post on Reddit and was ready to destroy them too. But actually reading the article, they don't actually say these are the best 10 rap albums of the 90's. The link says best-90s-hip-hop and they categorized it in their Best 10 links, but the actual title is "Our Staff's 10 Favorite Rap Albums of the '90s". I think that favorite is an extremely important differentiation than best.

The list is still really funny when looking at it regardless.
