You can't do this to me NathanOmg, imagine how good it would’ve been just kicking back in your room, chilling, listening to Ronnie Drake on vinyl! Like damn, that would’ve been such a vibe!
I know right! I was like “fuuuuuuck” because I’m just chilling in bed, and have some records playing, and was imagining Ronnie Drake bumping! You can't do this to me Nathan
..but hey, at least we can now listen to that uh, classic hip hop banger everyone knows and loves, um.. "Side Effects"
I think I'll listen to it just fine from where it's sat in the VMP warehouseI know right! I was like “fuuuuuuck” because I’m just chilling in bed, and have some records playing, and was imagining Ronnie Drake bumping!
But yeah, true, we can listen to that classic track on our phones or on earphones etc!
I know Swaps was a bit of a disaster for you last month, so I’m hoping it goes much more smoother for you this time!I think I'll listen to it just fine from where it's sat in the VMP warehouse
Ronnie Drake is such a good track . Gets constant plays in the Summer. I think I'll find myself having passed on Honest, choosing another present this month and leave that one for the distant future
Oh I wouldn't worry about me just yet . It was frustrating but I grabbed a beautiful Black Pumas Deluxe copy instead and will keep eyes peeled for Demon Days in swaps next time too. I still ended up with Herbie's Mr. Hands, Bella Donna and The Stooges, potentially with either Shabaka coming free or as a swap to Mr. Hands. Then I have 13 other records they're due to send and two preorders for later.I know Swaps was a bit of a disaster for you last month, so I’m hoping it goes much more smoother for you this time!
I was like “awwww oh no, I hate that this is happening to someone like Kyuuji, as they seem like such a friendly, fun and nice person”! ☺
Love that you’re taking advantage of swaps! Smart girl! I’m happy that you’re doing that as that’s something I did back then actually (two accounts to soak up the swaps = better value). It’s such good value actually, especially as I had to pay for international shipping back then, for every record I purchased on top back then!Oh I wouldn't worry about me just yet . Oh and I also signed up for another account so I have two tracks locked in each month. Was already tied into 3 months and thought may as well soak them up now and see if I want to resub to one of them at the end of that. This way allowed me to pick up the remaining (common) swaps I wanted so I don't have to waste my picks each time if they're good (Future tho so Classics this month) . So on top of the rest also have Salt N' Pepa, Rick Ross and T.I. coming from that
I've been busy Nathan
Ciara is way hotter than Future. Full stopListening to Honest driving around today in work and the crazy thing is, its the clearest Future has ever sounded on a record. Like most folk complain usually that he is mumble rap but this is by far the clearest he sounds, you can hear & understand every word without needing an ear tuned to listen to Future. The album has more sprinkles of rnb smoothed out hooks and vibes on it than most of his releases. The albums main issue is it might actually be too polished for Future, its definitely a reflection of his time with Ciara & how she tried and failed miserably to make him go straight & monogamous. If Russell Wilson comes across "I Won" and hears those lyrics he probably feels like crying at the description of Future banging his wife back then I still love the release though I know it so well @NathanRicaud
Well I personally don't fancie future he is the wrong sex for a start Ciara is smoking hot I've always had a thing for her. I was recently looking at her videos with Justin Timberlake & 50 Cent. I think she had a thing with a lot of industry folkCiara is way hotter than Future. Full stop
Ciara has those infectious R&B crunck tunes as well!
Future is also pretty hot too actually! BUT HIS MUSIC TURNS ME OFF GOD DAMMITWell I personally don't fancie future he is the wrong sex for a start Ciara is smoking hot I've always had a thing for her. Goodies was indeed a great exclusive! The 3 hit singles from there - Goodies, Oh & 1, 2 Step, are all incredibly infectious singles which are all minimal, but are sleek, sexy and addictive! Hotline is another great track that sounds like a hit (shoutout to @Turbo for playing that track once in the JQBX room) and The Title is a really nice closer! Next To You is the hidden gem in the second half of the album! An innocent sounding yet smooth and sensual song which has great attention to detail!I bought the Hendrix exclusive back in the day and I think Ive spun if once, and that’s a way better future album.
Im not one to be critical of their record choices but unfortunately this is set to be the all around the weakest month for me yet if it is the front runners (love White Stripes but hard to be too excited for an album I own already).
And yes, Ciara is smoking hot and goodies is a damn fun album (grabbed the UO exclusive of this recently)
VMP already did DS2 I believe.Goodies was indeed a great exclusive! Yeah, Future’s “Honest” really does seem like a poor pick musically! If it was something like Future’s “DS2”, it would be different!
Yeah, they did! I was using DS2 as a benchmark for something I think would be up to the “ROTM” standards ‘for me’. Like DS2 is the only Future album I’d be like “that’s a great R&HH ROTM pick”VMP already did DS2 I believe.
Move That Dope & Trouble On My Mind are a couple of my favourite tracks from the last decade. I've got got Fear Of God II to spin the latter, really want to be able to spin Move That Dope Push in my personal top 10“For that white powder, I knows better
Get it, i nose better”
