Thats an insane month to be fair and right after fishscale too. Amazing 🔥 I already own multiple versions of Stankonia but a vmp one is more than welcome 🙏

Same here, I’ve got an original press and the MOV pressing for Stankonia, but the VMP release will be the one I keep, and I’m gonna give/sell the other to my local record store! 🙌

I’m looking forward to seeing the pressing details for Stankonia! I have a feeling the pressing details will be great for this one! I’m sure it will sound just as good or even a bit better than the MOV pressing too! 😊

The A side is mostly black with some gold, but the B side looks like this. Both records are the same in that regard. On Side B now and it sounds great so far too! Love the gold foil on the cover as well! A great final record to leave VMP with.

Look, the only guarantee of working for VMP is that someone will be disappointed with EVERY record we pick. We've gotten hate mail over pressing a Nina Simone record for Essentials. Someone cancelled over an Aretha album. People threw tantrums over a (sold out!) SnP record

people threw tantrums because storf made a claim that became a meme.. SnP are fine but they aren't THAT political and not everyone is into it... i love how they had to explicitely say how they sold out of it
 
What does selling out even mean when we don't even know pressing numbers? What if they purchased half the amount of SnP as others and then say, "Oh hey look it sold out! This is such a great title!!!".

Also, if you are an only RHH interest like me, there may not have been any swaps of interest and thus you would be stuck with the SnP anyway. Seems slightly short sighted to think just because it sold out that we were all happy with it.

Right? Same shit happens with beer releases. Breweries will boast about selling out 500 bottle counts in 30 seconds as if 500 bottles is a lot of beer.

For almost $50 though they need to make these releases into gatefolds. Can’t stand the pocket jackets.

That’s what I’ve been noticing, and I shouldn’t say “cannot stand” because I can stand it, and have to, but would prefer a gatefold.

But yeah, most of my 2lp hip hop releases are pocket jackets. It is what it is.
