Not Lloyd Miller? I’m surprised at your answer! Haha or maybe you’re just including essentials...Worst AOTM ever!

I enjoy all the ephemera that comes with records. I have a designated hair dryer that I use to remove the hype stickers too, I try to apply them to a new outer sleeve. All that to say while I save all the VMP extras I find them not very appealing aesthetically. They get inmediately recycled by me. I dont keep other random promo materials that come with albums either. I know some people keep everything, but I would derive no joy from having them. And if someday someone passes on buying a record from me because I don't have the fauxbi, well I can't say ill lose any sleep over that.
99% of VMP’s design work is boring and uninspired. It really adds nothing to the product. If their point is to make something that doesn’t distract from the records themselves then why even bother including them? It is funny to compare them to the very early ones that included a signature of who packed your record though haha. I rediscovered my copy of MMJ - Z and those were even more atrocious.I enjoy all the ephemera that comes with records. Totally agree. Those early ones swallow the jacket. I did like the illegible signature though, it was a nice personal touch.99% of VMP’s design work is boring and uninspired. It's hard to read mine but most appear to say "WarpBot 3000”...I did like the illegible signature though, it was a nice personal touch.
Yea I was disappointed when it was announced because it was one of the first ROTMs I remember where it was already cheap to find on vinyl. But I ended up grabbing it maybe in swaps or a cheap eBay auction and I do listen to it a decent amount. I think it’s a pretty fun, upbeat listen. I also saw them at a festival once and they were surprisingly fun live.Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is a hard record to dislike. “1901” and “Listomania” are great songs. It’s not an all time great or anything but it’s a very listenable album.
I think you probably have some residual hatred for it since that was the ROTM they were trying to sell when they announced the forum shutdown, and you were the one running the guess thread hyping yourself up for the Libertines... I don't think any record could have softened that blowWorst AOTM ever!
I thought the worst Essentials ROTM by far would’ve been Moby’s Play!!! AKA the car commercial album!Worst AOTM ever!
I absolutely love that album ❤I thought the worst Essentials ROTM by far would’ve been Moby’s Play!!! AKA the car commercial album!
Me too. The commercial thing was actually innovative and now super commonplace. I think it helped remove the stigma of “selling out”.I absolutely love that album ❤
Agree its a fantastic album brings me back to being 14 every time I hear itMe too. The commercial thing was actually innovative and now super commonplace. I think it helped remove the stigma of “selling out”.

The sound quality is a HUGE upgrade from that cheap pressing (which I had purchased from VMP a couple months before they announced it for ROTM)Yea I was disappointed when it was announced because it was one of the first ROTMs I remember where it was already cheap to find on vinyl. I thought the worst Essentials ROTM by far would’ve been John Mayer's Continuum, the sound of privileged white boys getting away with date rape
