My least favourite five Essential ROTM's, from 2015, in no particular order are:
1. Menomena - Friend or Foe
2. Nada Surf - High/Low
3. Torres - Sprinter
4. Tennis - Yours Conditionally
5. Sleater-Kinney - The Center Won't Hold
I'm also not a fan of the Kevin Morby, Wilco, Laplsey and TV On The Radio picks! I've warmed up to the Townes Van Zandt and Jim Sullivan picks, but am also not the biggest fan of those two! I only enjoy half the tracks on both those ROTM's!

I tried with the TV On The Radio, but it just wasn't for me. I felt like the distortion and the overall abrasiveness didn't work in the favour of the album. The album is polished yet harsh. I think it is a good ROTM pick, as many people loved it, and it is 45RPM too which is cool, but I couldn't get into it...
The Kevin Morby pick is also decent, but I don't think that album should've gotten the Essentials treatment. It's not an album I'd spin, most likely due to the genre and overall aesthetic! I do really like early Bob Dylan (60's and 70's), and I love that Kevin Morby's vocals sound really similar to his! ☺

Although it's true what you've said about John Mayer being a privileged white guy getting away with date rape, I like the album "Continuum", and the VMP pressing sounds outstanding! It is, along with Caroline Rose however, my least favourite Essentials ROTM's of 2020!

Definitely! I will know the October and November Essentials ROTM's very well, so I'll be able to rank all the Essentials ROTM's very soon! I'll rank the ROTM's in terms of its 'pick', and will do a different ranking at the start of next year where I include overall package/sound quality!
In terms of picks so far, this would be my ranking from best to worst! The first 7 albums are all marvellous albums:
1. Buena Vista Social Club
2. Spiritualized
3. The White Stripes
4. The Roots
5. The Stooges
6. Stevie Nicks
7. Dirty Projectors
8. Caroline Rose
9. John Mayer
I'm very excited to get the Spiritualised! Cannot wait to spin it, and to see the overall package/sound quality on the release!

I think you probably have some residual hatred for it since that was the ROTM they were trying to sell when they announced the forum shutdown, and you were the one running the guess thread hyping yourself up for the Libertines... I don't think any record could have softened that blow

Muddy Waters is all but confirmed at this point considering Redman has made the 2 Blackout! albums with Method Man. Still leaning towards People Under the Stairs / OST for November even though this clue doesn’t confirm anything we didn’t already know. December seems to be confirming Big Boi / SLLF, so everyone who was anti-Waka Flocka can breathe this morning

October & December are for sure. I think November will be J5. PUTS would be huge, but I don't see it. J5 appeared on the Blazing Arrow. I think that clue confirms it’ll be PUTS.
Edit actually I guess it was just a few band members appearing with Blackalicious and not the full band. Is that enough to discount them? Hmm...

My last box just showed up a week and a half ago, but Ghostface is here (finally not BOTS I guess) and I'm spinning it now! The Black/Gold smash looks awesome in my opinion. The A side is mostly black with some gold, but the B side looks like this. Both records are the same in that regard. On Side B now and it sounds great so far too! Love the gold foil on the cover as well! A great final record to leave VMP with.
