Mmmmmmmm! I did not care for any of the drops last week or the week before, but this week has me like with nearly all the store drops!
Orchestra Baobab’s “Specialist in All Styles” is a magnificent store exclusive! One of the best store exclusives this year in my opinion, in regards of the music! I’m hoping the pressing sounds great!
Ali Farka Touré and The Bar-Keys were also exclusives I wanted and grabbed! I absolutely loved what I heard from briefly listening to both those albums!
It’s going great thanks! Haven’t purchased much vinyl in the last few weeks! How's that vinyl diet going Nathan?

I’ve only purchased three VMP exclusives in here last few weeks, haven’t purchased anything from Urban Outfitters and only purchased Lianne La Havas’ new album from Amazon! I haven’t purchased anything from my local too and haven’t purchased anything extra from Wax Buyers Club. No Discogs purchases in the last month! I’ve only purchased around 6 records in the last 15 days all together I’d say!
Going to continue to limit my purchases, and hopefully get it to around only 2 vinyl purchases per week max! Going to delete my Amazon account soon so then I only purchase records from my local, which in turn will mean less purchases, from the VMP store and from Wax Buyers Club!
ONLY 6 in the last 15 days?! That’s my haul every two months . No judgement though, more power to ya, if I could afford it I’d order probably 30 records every monthIt’s going great thanks! Haven’t purchased much vinyl in the last few weeks!

If my travelling plans didn’t get cancelled and if I didn’t take out my retirement fund, I would have definitely of purchased less vinyl in the last 3 months! Because of those two things occurring, I was able to splurge and get a lot of good stuff (a lot of Analogue Productions + MoFi + Blue Note pressings). Now I’m starting to go back to normal, which I say would be around 5 records a fortnight!ONLY 6 in the last 15 days?! That’s my haul every two months . I’m going to try and do 2 albums a week from August. Going to delete Amazon account starting from August, which means no more Blue Note Tone Poet and Blue Note 80 albums! This will leave me only with my local, VMP and Wax Buyers Club (I only get two albums a month maximum from Wax Buyers Club). So yeah, I’m feeling good about cutting back! But also, I have been really enjoying all the recent albums I’ve been getting too!
Also, I just got my tax return and got AUD$1700, so I’m going to put $1,000 in my savings account, which will contribute to my next trip after New Zealand, and the $700 will be for the Herbie Hancock Anthology Boxset!
mmmm I love that way of thinking! That's a really cool idea! Here's a method I've been employing to limit my vinyl spending: I have a rule that before I purchase a new record I need to have listened to 10% of my current collection. So for me, if I want to buy a record, I have to have listened to ~15 albums.. if I'm not doing much in the way of listening to the albums I own, then I don't feel that justified purchasing new vinyl. Then, obviously, as my collection increases so too does the number of records I need to listen to. You can modify the % value depending but I find this gets me spinning more vinyl rather than just buying it. I think you said you've got ~800 records, so that's 80 albums you want to be listening to before you add #801

hmmmm, I'm going to actually going to try and be really hard on myself with buying vinyl! Getting rid of Amazon means I can only get the PJ Harvey reissues through my local, as well as other pre-order records I know I'll want to get via Amazon (like the pre-order Amy Winehouse Half-Sped Abbey Road pressing of Frank), which means it will cost more but it means less vinyl! ☺
Love the way you limit your spending habits on vinyl though! It's creative and awesome!
I'm kind of surprised the Ambrose lasted that long. The album is awesome and BN doesn't tend to do a ton of color vinyl pressings. I'm really looking forward to that one arriving. Was poking around the store and was a little surprised that these have apparently sold out:
Bright Eyes
Ambrose
Minecraft OST
Couldnt agree more. I honeslty expected to fly off the shelves (so to speak). Hes a killer musician for sure.I'm kind of surprised the Ambrose lasted that long. The album is awesome and BN doesn't tend to do a ton of color vinyl pressings. I'm really looking forward to that one arriving.
I'm guessing price had something to do with it, although it wasn't that much more expensive than from Amazon or BN. I ended up grabbing the VMP and the signed one from his site. I do know a lot of people who aren't VMP members that would have gotten it, but by the time the members only time ran out, there were already other versions available.Couldnt agree more. Is anyone able to do a stock check of the Sonny Sharrock exclusive?
Awesome, thank you! It seems like I'm safe waiting until after my CC cutoff date to grab that Sonny Sharrock
I just did a stock check on that one and there's only 5 COPIES LEFT! QUICK!!!!!Hopefully the Steve & Teresa is selling well. It really is a terrific album, and I'm not big into caring about colors, but that "shore break" color is gorgeous.
Is that Margo Guryan part of a wider reissue or actually an exclusive VMP release?
