Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Awwww dammit! Now my record collection isn’t going to be as attractive now because I’ve got another Country record coming! 😅🌵

Just kidding, I’m happy that I’ll now have a record each by Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson & Loretta Lynn in my collection! 🙌🤠🥃

It means if any country fans come into my room, I have some albums to spin which they’d enjoy! 👍
Bro I think you’re a country fan!

Don’t tell anyone though, especially my friends! 🤫

You're starting to slowly come around as you learn Country isnt all just Honky Tonk or singing about Beer and Trucks (though that stuff is great too). Alot of elements of Blues, Soul, etc and some amazing song writing depending on who you're listening to.

As I tell my wife (who also used to hate country), No shame being a Yee-Ho who was a former Yee-No.

Time for some Keith Urban and Morgan Evans albums!
Eewww no way! Only 60’s and 70’s Country for now! No Keith Urban or Morgan Evans!

Ohhhh, I really want some Patsy Cline on vinyl too, but that’s so different to Shania Twain, you know what I’m saying?

I‘m not a fan Colter Wall, Paul Cauthen, Margo Price etc either. I think If I’m enjoying country music, it’s the 60’s and 70’s type!

One post 2000’s artist that’s a tiny bit country I do love though is....Mac DeMarco! 😍🤠

Great artist. Not Country.
Oops, must have been tricked by his “Here Comes The Cowboy” album title or maybe him with a flanette shirt and a guitar on the album cover for ‘2’! Jokes haha

But the instrumentals on that album; pretty crap album to be honest, are country-tinged. Even songs like “Annie” and “The Stars Keep On Calling My Name” Sound really country. Like he definitely had a bit of a country sound in him, no?

Maybe his music is too sexy and hipster to come under the ‘Country’ umbrella! 😛🤣

Do yourself a favour and try some Orville Peck.

Nope, not country - you could maybe argue folk.

Have you listened to Charley Crockett? Could be the start of something...

I quickly listened to the first 4 tracks on his album “In The Night” @hatfieldpdx and the only one I liked was the title track (In The Night). Loved the organ solo and guitar solo at the end, the guitars in general, trumpet, drums and funky sound! Great vocal performance too! It’s got a sweaty, dreamy, rustic, sound that’s just such a vibe! But yeah, all the tracks that followed after I just wasn’t feeling...😅

All of his releases are a bit different, and he actually covers a wide range of genres. Give 'Lil G.L.'s Honky Tonk Jubilee' or 'Lil G.L.'s Blue Bonanza' a listen...
