I thought you just said you hoped for some Johnny Cash.Yes, this is attractive. But.....I don’t think I’d find his music attractive! ️

I think you overuse the word "attractive." Nothing wrong with not connecting to a genre for the most part, but it doesn't sound like you know enough about it to properly judge. It’s unattractive because it’s not for me!
I don't think it takes any taste to curate classics from giants of country music or the hottest RSD-friendly current acts. But that's why I think the track will probably be fine. Not to say he doesn't like good stuff, just that I don't think that offers compelling evidence that I would trust him to recognize underrated/underexposed excellence. He likes alot of good country too. He is also the one who picked the Willie, Loretta, and Townes albums. And brought us exclusives from Sturgill, Jinks, Cauthen, Margo, etc.
Its possible to have a diverse enough taste to like some good quality music as well as the mindless guilty pleasure trash. I know I do.
Exactly this. I hope in a year I'm finding those 90s country albums used in my local, or more affordable pressings following their features in the club.I think his taste fairly basic but that is fine. There are lots of basic Country albums (especially from the 90s) that could use a reissue. More options is never a bad thing.
Ohhh I didn’t even know that was Johnny Cash! Silly me! I think I want Johnny Cash because he’s iconic, so for Country vinyl collection, I’d want one Willie Nelson album, one, Loretta Lynn album, one Dolly Parton album and one Johnny Cash album. I’d also like a studio album from Patsy Cline!I thought you just said you hoped for some Johnny Cash.
Who among us has never wanted to pay 43 dollars for stardust or red headed stranger? We don't need some below average picks from Willie for a high price point
Ummm, AP copies of Stardust go for $55Who among us has never wanted to pay 43 dollars for stardust or red headed stranger?
I would not compare vmp to ap but that's just my experienceUmmm, AP copies of Stardust go for $55
Oh certainly the AP is a better bet, but for a clean, AAA transfer I'd see $33 (add on price) not bad for specific titles.I would not compare vmp to ap but that's just my experience
You can get a clean AAA stardust for under $10 thoughOh certainly the AP is a better bet, but for a clean, AAA transfer I'd see $33 (add on price) not bad for specific titles.
this is more where i was going for.You can get a clean AAA stardust for under $10 though
And the original Stardust is a BG cut.this is more where i was going for.
Certainly not like audiophile AP/MFSL etc, but stardust and red headed stranger (and in fact most country titles that would be "must-have classics" -- I don't know, country's not generally my thing, maybe "johnny cash at folsom prison" ? -- would have decent-to-excellent reissues available/possible. I think you'll get the country version of Errol -- yes, it's nice, but you can get a nice non-VMP version for $10.
And it's a GD national treasure!Ummm, AP copies of Stardust go for $55
They mentioned keeping the definition of country very broad, so I have hope!I'm glad they're doing a country track, I just wish/hope that it is not strictly "country" and that we get the occasional bluegrass, folk, rockabilly, or alt country record. More of an Americana track.

Country AND WesternI think its going to be both kinds of music.
I saw Storf explicitly said this would be the case (forgot where... Twitter or Instagram, I think) - mentioned bluegrass, Americana, outlaw, etcI'm glad they're doing a country track, I just wish/hope that it is not strictly "country" and that we get the occasional bluegrass, folk, rockabilly, or alt country record.
