uhhh...It's January...isn't this the only rising release of 2021 thus far? I guess since its the only one so far, that would also make it the best of the year to date. I suppose your statement holds some weight

But it’s such an amazing project! It’s honestly a stunning, messy, pretty, trippy album that only leaves more beauty to discover with each listen! I think this VMP Rising pick will be the best VMP Rising of 2021 because it’s a 10/10 pick!

I will mostly be buying audiophile vinyl from now on, but occasionally will buy non audiophile pressings like this Billy Lemos VMP Rising! I am sure this VMP Rising pressing will sound great though, as most VMP Rising pressings I have sound really good!

I listened to wonder because of the hype here but have to admit it feels mre like unfinished sketches than an album to me. There is some nice production but everything is around the 2 min mark with thevwhole album clocking in at 20 min that feels not fully fleshed out to me

Exactly how I felt. The songs felt like concepts that were still getting fleshed out.

Very interested to see what the February Swaptions will be tomorrow! I’m definitely grabbing The Strokes & Quasimoto ROTM’s as I think they are excellent albums and the packaging looks great for them too! I will be giving the Classics ROTM a pass however, so I’m super keen to see what I could potentially swap it for!

I think the Frederick Knight ROTM will stay in stock for a long time, so I’m no rush to purchase that one, especially as it’ll be USD$36 for me! Like...I prefer that Galt MacDermot album that is a VMP exclusive moreso than the Frederick Knight album and it’s USD$11 cheaper! And both pressings are AAA, remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound and plated at QRP!

I’d probably pay like USD$29 max for that Frederick Knight ROTM! But yeah, I’m so excited for the Swaptions now as I’m not picking up all three ROTM’s now! I might pick up that John Prine album actually as the pressing is AAA and apparently sounds stunning! I’ll just need to make sure I play it straight away as people have gotten faulty copies before!
