Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Did the previous batch of Jazz Dispensary titles (Purdie, Axelrod, etc) ever show up in swaps? I want to get Melvin Sparks, but I don't want to $45 get it.
Same as @avecigrec, they did and I also got most of them that way. I actually managed to get the whole set without paying the full price, using credit from the Herbie Hancock Anthology delay (I think) and Swaps.

Im also hoping they make their way over to swaps. The quality of the first set was really fantastic regardless of the price.

So where are people thinking the Miles Davis - Star People is going to end up? Since they did Sorcerer as an Essentials already, that leaves Classics even though they did Miles & Coltrane Live way back when. I am a little worried that if it is Classics, it actually initially might sell out.

Just want to hedge my bets and might sign up the month early and just swap for credits to (and grab Built to Spill) secure my place in line.

Storf has said that he doesn't consider the Miles & Coltrane LP as counting for either in Classics. We just got a Coltrane in Classics, so I'm guessing Star People will be in Classics.

My view is that although it will be popular for the fact that it’s Miles, I can’t imagine a staggering amount of people will sign up for it as it’s not considered his best. That era of his music is quite polarising really.

Personally I wouldn’t consider it amongst his best (certainly not my top 10…15?). Not to say I don’t like it but I can’t see it being as popular as the Coltrane/Davis for example.

I agree (though I have streamed it a couple of times and really like it) but I can see a lot of Davis fans dropping in just for the month to grab it.

But if Sun Ships is not sold out in its initial run, then I doubt Star People will as well.

The article said it’s gonna be in Classics this fall

I swear I saw someone post this in another thread but it was bandcamp? I don't remember which one was cheaper though
this has a pretty wide release. I think this is the 3rd reissue of it. Mr. Bongo put it out and it's on their bandcamp:

but it's also available at lots of shops.
