Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I know this is responding to an old post - but I move at glacial pace with my upgrades right now, work has kept me away from home and largely out of country for, oh, about the last two years....any way, I just ordered a Marantz SA-KI Ruby SACD/CD from MD. They've got them on clearance for the same price ($3K) as the SACD 30N (I don't really see any other places carrying the Ruby's and they were advertised as limited in number so I'm assuming deadstock at this point).

In reality, I really wanted the best SACD/CD player in my price range. Second, the bluetooth and WIFI capability. I don't really care about the streaming from different providers (I don't have any Tidal, Spotify, Pandora, etc.)

To supplement the BT/WIFI cape that I'm not getting with the Ruby, I'm gonna get a cheapo Audioengine BT RX that is advertised as having a 100FT range. My PC in my office should be more than close enough (even with walls) to send my large digital library on my PC to my stereo (ok, it's not WIFI but it will produce the same result).

Anyway, thought I'd follow up on this ancient discussion.

Edit: I also hear Marantz is raising its prices so I expect the SACD 30n to go up in price soon.
If there are walls involved, do not be surprised if that 100ft range is more limited than expected. I would be very surprised if someone hasn't done some sort of raspberry pi custom image for exactly this type of setup. (But I personally don't know of any since I haven't had call to look for one myself)

Yes, I know that walls will affect it. But I have a comp BT set up in another part of my house where I can walk through all parts of my house pretty much unaffected. Even going out to the garage with the door closed only causes intermittent drops from my BT headphones.

Swapped for credit last month and thinking about using the credits to buy one of the Jazz Dispensary titles. Last time they did JD exclusives I grabbed Purdie and Idris, both of which I like a lot. Which of the current batch is a must-have that preferably leans funky?

Just got an email saying Juvenile's 400 Degreez and Method Man's Tical have been restocked.

Tical might be enough to get me to resub if it shows up as a swaption later this month.

I love this album and have the black version which has been available for a long time already from Mr Bongo & other retailers. Mr B actually has 2 different versions of this available now on black vinyl and I'm not sure what the difference is between them.

The marantz SACDs have a pretty awesome built in DAC and a USB input to allow for an external source. If I wanted network I’d probably get a usb output streamer like the Project S2 ultra, IFI Zen Stream or the new Musical Fidelity MX-Stream (or if it’s near enough just direct connect to Laptop/PC/iPad etc) and make double use of the Marantz DAC.

There seem to be some DIY Pi streamer kits and directions around. I may make one for shits n giggles no matter what cause it looks fun.
