Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

This majorly pisses off customers who would be getting one or two exclusives per month (along with their RotM, perhaps). Since you would have been getting 14 records, receiving 12 of them is still over 85% of your order, while getting a larger box later.

I'm one of those who bought two exclusives at most per month. I don't buy VMP exclusives any longer because of the delays (TLC's Fanmail was the last straw for me), and am only getting one RotM per month until my membership expires at year's conclusion.

Yeah, like I said I get it. I realize I buy more than most but it sucks for people who order only a few a month. I wish theyd go back to twice a month shipping to help get records out quicker

Except The Funkadelic and Jeff Buckley’s and Al Green all sold out long before a chance of swapping,.

The forum was still open when Funkadelic & Al Green came out. I don't remember for Buckley. Those were in demand but I'm sure they went faster because of the FOMO. I remember for the Funkadelic that I pulled the trigger when people on the forum mentioned stock was low.

I know the old VMP forum was killed mid-May, it just feels like N&G has been around a lot longer. But in a good way, like it has always been here.

Amazing, isn't it. The transition was essentially seamless, which is in great thanks to those that put N&G together. And the community here is really good-natured, which makes it comfortable to spend time.

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to be where you can see,
Our troubles are all the same;
You want to be where everybody knows your name.

I'm wondering what this old forum is you speak of. ;)

Seriously, post-VMP and my record collecting/collection has improved, I seem to have a lot more money to spend on vinyl and have less complaints about something I'm supposed to enjoy endlessly.

VMP was a good experience, I'll add that to my vinyl collecting story, but it completely derailed everything I love about collecting vinyl. They shouldn't be the centre of anyones vinyl experience, but they found away to get in there through making things look shiny to people with excess cash.

It's crazy, I look back and think, wtf was I thinking? It was fun while it lasted, but the sooner you realize you don't really need most this stuff the better. It's great to join a club when you first start, even if it's just to hold your attention for awhile but thinking you can't miss out on what they are producing because it's "limited" and a new color is not for me, anymore. I honestly think in 10 years no one out there is going to give a shit that you have a pink Anderson PAAK limited to 300 copies.
