Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Just catching up on all this and also saw Storf's Instagram post. WOW.

Regardless of what people think of VMP's history, it's pretty devastating to see all these people lose their jobs. Although the company wasn't always great, I don't think anyone can deny how passionate the likes of Storf was/is when it comes to getting music out to people that otherwise might not have heard it. I know my knowledge and enjoyment of music has been all the better for it.

It's ironic that his post about being let go is some of the best writing he's done.

Yeah, the half measures got em.
it's all the bad decisions with the plant that fucked them. bad choice of location--led to zoning delays, tougher permits to attain, etc all because Cam wanted to have a bar in the pressing plant and have foot traffic. spent too much on stupid shit like sound systems for a listening room that didn't need to be there. it was a lot of flash for stuff that wouldn't actually bring them in any kind of substantial income. then losing outside investments and siphoning millions from VMP into the plant while having 40% off sales and giving away free records to try to get people to join up. they de-valued the brand then raised prices and made the product/experience worse.
