Yeah I might jump on it. Rolling Stones are a severe gap in my music knowledgeIt's a solid album front to back. I would say it's one of the better Rolling Stones albums

If you like the vibe of Exile and Sticky Fingers, then yes, this is for you. It is part of that blues quatro...beggars...bleed...sticky...exile. It was the last of those that I got into, but a stand out for me...YMMV. As I said in the pre order thread...when the song Let It Bleed comes on the radio...I crank it. When certain people talk down about the Stones, I assume they clearly have not heard, in entirety, those 4 albums. It's a solid album front to back. Interestingly, those are the four Stones albums I know the best. I had no idea they were grouped, they just happened to be the four I listen to the most.If you like the vibe of Exile and Sticky Fingers, then yes, this is for you. Best album hands down "Exile On Main St.". That being said you would be hard pressed not to check out one of their greatest hits collections ("Forty Licks" is a really good one), Their run of albums from "Beggar Banquet" to "Exile" is their High point (IMO). Other great albums that were markedly different due to the era they were created and worth checking out: "Aftermath" and "Between the Buttons" were great earlier albums then "Some Girls" and "Tattoo You" are pretty good "Late Period" releases (I put late period in quotes because obviously they are still putting out new albums all these years later) Almost all their records have at least a few gems on em though. It's just their career is so lengthy that a Greatest Hits would let you take a lot of their best stuff in a more easily digestible package.Wait there's gonna be a Let It Bleed exclusive? Oh. Not gonna lie, I haven't heard a lot of the Stones. Should I jump in on it?
I love Exile, but there's some filler on it Let It Bleed is all killer. It's my favorite Stones album. And I'm a Stones guys. Which is why, pound for pound, Let It Bleed is one of my favorite albums of all time, period.Best album hands down "Exile On Main St.". I disagree. Exile IMO is a perfect record front to back.I love Exile, but there's some filler on it Let It Bleed is all killer. It's my favorite Stones album. And I'm a Stones guys. Which is why, pound for pound, Let It Bleed is one of my favorite albums of all time, period.
yeah, I've heard lots of high praise for Exile.Best album hands down "Exile On Main St.". You picked out the trouble spots. If only they had replaced Country Honk w/ Honky Tonk Woman it woulda been a substantial upgrade.yeah, I've heard lots of high praise for Exile.
I just got through my first full listen of Let It Bleed, and god there are some great songs here, but there's a few stinkers here. Country Honk felt weird and out of place, and I'm not 100% on board with Monkey Man, but I do still like it. I don't even care though cause the rest of the album slaps pretty hard, especially You Can't Always Get What You Want. I felt the groove in my body when the chorus for that song came on!

Best album hands down "Some Girls"
Just listened to it and yeah, it definitely feels like it fits better than Country Honk. Just put Honky Tonk in place of it on the album and it's a perfect fit!You picked out the trouble spots. If only they had replaced Country Honk w/ Honky Tonk Woman it woulda been a substantial upgrade.
Hey I get it, Exile doesn't have the Singles as some of their other releases but as an album it has a dank dirty rowdy raw energy from "Rocks Off" thru "Soul Survivor". I personally couldn't imagine cutting loose anything on that album.Fixed it for you
I like Exile, but I think it could have been a single album. Too many songs I have to wade through to get to the ones I want to hear. Example: it starts of promising enough with "Rocks Off," but then I have to wait 'til the end of the side for "Tumbling Dice."
I think you are right on, all are really really solid.I mean we are splitting obviously we are splitting hairs any of those albums from 1968 to 1972 could end up being your favorite and most folks would not dispute your claim.
Loving Cup is in my top 3 Stones' songs. So I will always give the nod to Exile. And if you don't like the song Sweet Virginia, then go f' yourself (j/k). Also. lest we forget that they had that little recording session down at the 'Shoals. MMMM...that is some good stuff!I'm with you there. For me its...
1. Let it Bleed
2. Sticky Fingers
3. Exile
Although relooking at the track list for Exile, I think I need to listen to that again...
Use the spoiler tag next take for your hot takes, I IMPLORE you. Some Girls & Emotional Rescue are the only Stones album a person needs.
