Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

What a journey. I re joined this month for a couple exclusives and only ended up getting one of them. I swapped Da Brat for Flaming Lips and grabbed both the Lips exclusives. After some pondering I swapped again for Gorillaz. Thought about it more and swapped for Darrell Banks. And then I cancelled AGAIN

I’m also considering trying to cancel my order of the Lips exclusives but probably won’t. When I get FOMO vibes and rejoin I will grab Darrell Banks for sure because it’s pretty good.

So funny what FOMO can do. I’ve been hearing about Demon Days since I joined up for Moby back when and I have been clamoring for the day it popped back up in swaps. It finally did and I decided to swap for it, seemed like a no brainer but as I streamed the album I realized that I would never spin it. It’s not an album that really begs to be respun, it’s great but lacks in replay ability. The weirdest part is I was trying to force myself to keep it as a swap because it’s the VMP Demon Days! Luckily for me the FOMO dissipated and I ended up grabbing Darrell Banks instead :D. But yeah, no way I’m canceling and losing my 1 month sub anytime soon, especially not with Aretha on the horizon. I took a nice 4 month break from VMP but I’m happy to be back

CS placed Outkast as my swap. Now, has anyone asked to swap for Fania All Stars? Do you think they will let me add a track and swap it for a record that is currently not offered as a swap?

On Friday, Paul told me No to swapping for Fania All-Stars as it wasn't in the warehouse yet.
Ask though, maybe it's arrived? If you do get it, please let me know.

Guess it didnt make it to the warehouse in time. Sucks since all the other copies were in stores last week. I accidentaly forgot to cancel my indie preorder from bullmoose so now have to decide if Im going to keep my VMP order too.

Funny enough, my local said the distributor was behind again, and they didn't get any Sturgill vinyl for release day; they're hoping the records show up sometime this week. Across the industry, this has been the norm for the last year since distribution consolidated to one primary source.

Yeah, I stopped caring or being surprised if an album is delayed a week or two now. As you said, its the new norm. But this is where VMPs shipping monthly policy sucks since a slight delay can push an album back a whole month. I wish they went back to the mid-month deliveries for any pending exclusives as well.

Feel bad for anyone who didn’t grab Al Green 😩

They had their chance. I'm honestly surprised it lasted this long.

If you don't have Nat Turner Rebellion or Experience Unlimited... Get on it

Yeah, I know several people swapping for Nat Turner this month, but that repress probably means it'll be around a little while longer. I ALMOST swapped for Experience Unlimited, but decided to take a chance on Joel Ross. EU will probably be my next swaption.

I had swapped for Mavis, but figure I can wait on that. Swapped my swap for EU. Don't want to miss out on it.
