We are reaching out to inform you of a delay with the October Classics record, Celia & Johnny. After an initial short delay in receiving the stock, and while packing these records, we discovered the entire run had been damaged due to a cutting error. The outer edges of each record were cut incorrectly and were sharp and jagged as a result (see the picture below).

While this issue does not affect playback, we believe it’s something that affects the quality of the records and we are committed to fixing it. We are working with the plant to expedite a repress of this inventory and anticipate having everything ready to ship during the week of October 21st. This includes your October Classics record, as well as any other titles ordered to be shipped in October. However, if you ordered either Halloween titles (John Carpenter's Halloween Expanded Edition and/or Vince Guaraldi’s It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown), we will go ahead and get your shipment sent out, and will send Celia & Johnny separately once we receive them.

We are doing everything we can to get these records out the door as fast as possible. We sincerely apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience it may cause. If you have any questions, please feel free to email info@vinylmeplease.com, or respond to this email.

Yeah, not to pile on unnecessarily, but a shipment being delayed due to stock, then delayed again due to defect, particularly when it contains a replacement for an earlier defect (Stars) pretty much better be perfect when it arrives because you kinda burned through the goodwill at that point. Which makes me nervous about this At War with the Mystics thing being alluded to.

They clearly dont learn from their mistakes at all and don't understand what the source of peoples frustrations with them really are.

It sucks that I ultimately think owning the records is more important than the frustration along the way, because at this point, I really would love to tell them to eff off.

By now, delays don’t really phase me personally and if I order something I do it knowing it’s not gonna be timely. Honestly, that’s no big deal. But a triple-threat on errors before they even hit the mail processing is a taste that’s hard to just ignore. Particularly in the face of climbing prices and longer lead times.

But at least it’s good to see seasonal stuff being recognized as arriving before the season is over.

I think, if you have this it’s holding everything up. Unless you have Halloween albums pre ordered in which case you will get everything apart from this and it will come separate later.

To be fair the email was really clear, it’s just a bit shitty of them to hold back the rest of the shipment, they should be releasing the rest immediately for all customers and then just forwarding the classics when it arrives in stock.
