The more that they raise the prices, the more that the "Free shipping" doesn't mean a whole lot, unfortunately
If you've ever been in a fucked up relationship with anyone, whether it's romantic or business or anything else, it's easy to understand how difficult it can be to know when to leave something. And, even if you do leave, that doesn't mean that there wasn't any value before or that nothing ever really mattered. Things simply change. Sometimes, something is worth something until it just isn't worth it anymore. It also doesn't invalidate the good parts from the past. Instead, it can just piss you off even more, because you know that things COULD be better.
That's how I feel with VMP. They didn't have to go and fuck everything up. Everything they do is a domino effect of everything else they've done and trying to fix bullshit decisions. They never had to close the forum. They never had to invest in anoraks. They fuck something up and then, to solve that problem, take something else away from the members. They just took one months away AND fucked with swapping. MEanwhile, they make things open to non-members and offer them the chance to buy 5 copies a piece. HOw does that make sense. They "solve" these things by jacking up the prices. Every decision they make trickles down to fucking the customer, while they are telling us that these choices are being done for our benefit.
@NathanRicaud just mentioned what he likes about this place, but I think the important thing to remember is that everything that he says that he likes about this place is what VMP worked to eliminate. They even tried to eliminate us. A CLUB is against their business model. A community is dangerous, because members communicate and, by communicating, realize how widespread issues are, while discovering other issues they weren't even aware of.
THink about this one thing for a minute... What happened when VMP continued to send me damaged packages month after month? Did they ever adjust the shipping practice or do anything at all to fix them? I mean, they actually emailed me and told me that this was an issue that they were aware of and then told me the same thing like a year later. What they did instead was change their exchange policy on the sly. So, they didnt' stop sending members damaged shit, they just told you that you were going to need to expect and accept it. That's really all you need to know about the entire company. It says a lot.
