Dude, at this point I don't even care about warps anymore, just find me a damn record that's pressed properly. Since the beginning of November I don't have a single clean record from VMP, every single one has pressing issues. I'd start to believe it's something with my setup but periodic repetitive right channel crackle on mostly VMP pressed albums seems like an unlikely setup issue.Make sure you give him the one with the biggest warp. Don't want him to get complacent.
Nah, your setup is just just showing it’s frustration w/ VMP too.Dude, at this point I don't even care about warps anymore, just find me a damn record that's pressed properly. This is excellent news.yeah, i’m gonna take care of Mather, I’m sure one of these copies are good.
Yep, all of my copies of Buckley sound like that too. It's not the scratch, the pressing is trash.Jeff Buckley- first song riddled with loud pops. What the fuck!!! These records taking forever to get here make these qc issues especially frustrating.
Edit: it’s not just the first song.
Oh now I see why. I should have never even put it on the table. Massive fucking scratch.View attachment 28433

Kinda feel left out that I’m only getting what I ordered. WTF, mate?
Yep, it's RTI, but honestly they're all having issues... QRP is about the only one that I trust these days.Yeah I dropped the needle outside of the scratch and was still getting pops. Not nearly as loud, but still. Wasn’t this supposed to be pressed at RTI or am I remembering that wrong?
That makes me sad that most pressing plants have so much quality control issues nowadays! I wonder if it was like this in the 60’s, 70’s and/or 80’s?!Yep, it's RTI, but honestly they're all having issues... QRP is about the only one that I trust these days.
I've never once heard these types of distortion and crackling on a vintage record. I've also never seen a warped one, it was definitely not like this prior to the past 15 years or so...That makes me sad that most pressing plants have so much quality control issues nowadays! I bought plenty back then. Zero issues. Literally would just open and play. That makes me sad that most pressing plants have so much quality control issues nowadays! I wonder if it was like this in the 60’s, 70’s and/or 80’s?!

alexa play mad world
Mmmmmmm that’s what I thought myself! Every 50’s and 60’s second hand jazz record I’ve purchased (original pressings), have never been warped and sound great. And yes, no sound distortion as well!I've never once heard these types of distortion and crackling on a vintage record. I've also never seen a warped one, it was definitely not like this prior to the past 15 years or so...
But also, fancy coloured vinyl doesn't help. Much more likely to have noise and issues. My Ann Arbor Vol 1 disc two has repetitive crackle on the last song on each side and guess where it happens? Right where the white vinyl and the black vinyl meet.
I can’t believe it was literally zero issues! That’s absolutely crazy to think back then you wouldn’t have any problems!I bought plenty back then. Zero issues. Literally would just open and play.
