I actually have a feeling it will be the other way around! I feel like leftovers from Motown, Stax or Ghostly will end up in the Swaptions!
I just have this crazy feeling that it’s going to be the best Swaptions yet in terms of selections!

I think those Anthologies are possible, but I don't think they will be available in nearly the numbers that the Woodstock box sets were, so VMP will end up with 10 people super stoked and 200 people chuffed they didn't get the shiny thing for super cheap, after Matt "What if I had more time" Fiedler's mass email.

Ironically, flipping through a list of record stores with primary purpose of having something to look good sitting around is the level of research and focus VMP put into it.

Maybe that’s true, but I’d still love the book because the images and the overall read would be visually aesthetically pleasing!
If I want a good looking kind of coffee table book, I’d want it to be this one!
I actually do hope the book is a swaption because I’d love to pick it up at $23!

Did they do any research? I was under the impression that they just solicited submissions from *anyone* for each state and picked the "best" essays.

One day left on the 20% off code, y'all. I just went and pulled the trigger on Ivy Sole live, Mndsgn, and the AP Pet Sounds. It'll be my very first Analogue Productions record, so I'm hoping it's worth it even at the 20% discount.
Edit: A horrifying thought just came over me. What if... what if VMP's "swaption only" surprise this month will be a bunch of AP records, including Pet Sounds? What if I waited one more day and I could've grabbed it for $23?
I have instant regrets.
Looks like I missed the code. It didn't work today, but maybe it's because I'm on Pacific time and it already expired

I'm excited to see what the Swaptions might be because I know I'll be swapping out S&P. That said, I can't get hyped about it with the one chance to lock in a pick. I say this because if I feel FOMO'ed into to making a pick today around 5EST because I think it'll disappear quickly, and then something I wanted even more becomes a swaption the next day, I won't be too happy. If they didn't do this annoying "addition of more swaptions after the fact" thing, I'd be down to ride your hype train. Don't get me wrong, I have benefited from them adding more swaptions in the past, but now that I know I'll swap today at 5EST, I feel like it's gonna eff me over.

I keep getting confused, is it the White Stripes that's this month's Essentials?
Also, I've never been in a position where I will potentially be swapping out a record that I want anyway. So is there an option to buy the record even though I have swapped it out? I know it will make the store if it doesn't sell out, but that seems like quite the risk with something like the White Stripes. I know I'm wanting to keep all 3 subs this month but if something like an anthology box set does pop up (pleassse be stax or motown!!) it would be crazy not to swap for it!

It’s Stevie Nicks for the May Essentials ROTM! The White Stripes will be in June!
Let’s hope we get some crazy good swaps, like a Stax or Motown Anthology Boxset! They’re great Boxsets and it would be the best thing ever for people to snag them for $23!

Ooooh cheers @NathanRicaud. In that case I will swap out Stevie if something good is in swaps as that's likely to make it to next month/the store. Yeah I dig Stevie, Nathan. My girlfriend really likes Fleetwood Mac (I thoroughly recommend the book 'Storms: My Life with Lindsey Buckingham and "Fleetwood Mac" by Carol Ann Harris, its INSANE!) and we have a couple of Stevie's albums as well, so I will definitely be up for this VMP release if there isn't any big swaps.

Fan favourites would be the Otis Classics ROTM as that will likely sell out soon! In terms of VMP exclusives that have already sold out, I’d say the Denzel Curry x Kenny Beats exclusive is a massive fan favourite! I got my copy today actually and I’m OBSESSED!

Mmmmmm I see where you’re coming from! If you swap for something you like, it’s a win no matter what! You have another chance to swap if you see something you want even more, so there’s that to keep in mind too!

She's not overly into records (she streams a ton) although I have bought some over the years specifically for her (the J-Lo bundle, Spice Girls, Arcade Fire, etc). I will pick the Stevie as long as it makes it to the store, looks to be a great release and your right, it would be a great surprise too!

I'm susceptible to hype, fomo and indecision so I'm sure I'll be having a little cocktail party with all three when it hits
. Good thing about being new though is that there's so much out there that's fantastic and I don't have – so even in the case of missing the rare ones I know I'll be able to end up with some great music regardless. Though not having much also makes the indecision around what to get worse

Would definitely be a great one to catch if it popped up.
