I am sure there are some unattended unfinished homes in your area, you have a flashlight and a truck, right?Where the hell is my guy getting 2x12s that don't cost a small fortune?
EDIT: scratch that...

Don't know if anyone's posted this one I just came across, but looks like a simple diy plan. I think I'd change a few things, but nice clear plan.

I'm considering making my own based on the ones that guy sells...I don't remember what they're called. But I'm getting tired of looking for a record only to find it banished to the depths of my shelvesOne thing I need to go back to add on my record shelf is a back stop.
I think I will run a 1x2 across the back mid way up to keep all of the records from going to far in.
Simple but a necessary feature I didn't think about when building the shelf.
I like the turntable revival ones (assuming that’s what you’re thinking of). But yea—should be extremely easy to make yourself if you have the toolsI'm considering making my own based on the ones that guy sells...I don't remember what they're called. yea i just gorilla glue the wood on (don't use mounting tape).Yeah me too with the provision that the glue strips that come with it are useless. The gorilla double sided mounting tape is immeasurably better.

yea--i have tons of clamps so just went that route. those stupid adhesive squares that came with em fell off a few months after applying them.Mounting tape just suited me better just because it’s instant so I didn’t need to invest in clamps to keep them still while it dried. The glue probably works out cheaper I had both said clamps and any form of patience whatsoever.
you can use whatever adhesives you want. these are just squares that have adhesives on both sides. i think i used a little plastic scraper thing to get it off and it seemed okay. but you can get something that will be easier to remove if you want.Do the adhesives cause any damage to the Kallax shelves? I know they're cheap, but I don't really want to peel the laminate if I can avoid it.
I’m dealing with this too, but inconsistently… some are holding fine but others have come loose . I have them on a 5x5 Kallax, a 2x4 Costco something, and some 2x2 Target cubes… I’m hesitant to use glue so may just try to find a higher quality double sided tape.those stupid adhesive squares that came with em fell off a few months after applying them.

And I thought my overflow was out of control….I've gone back and forth on whether to build a shelf or just buy another Kalax next month when I get a little time off work, but in the meantime I grabbed this on Temu for $30 shipped after one of their coupons. Doesn't look half bad and would probably be adequate for a lot of younglings getting into vinyl. Same concerns about the sides maybe causing jacket damage, but I'll probably put a boxset on each end. My biggest wish would be that both shelves on it were made of the faux-walnut, because they actually look pretty nice.
