I've gone back and forth on whether to build a shelf or just buy another Kalax next month when I get a little time off work, but in the meantime I grabbed this on Temu for $30 shipped after one of their coupons. Doesn't look half bad and would probably be adequate for a lot of younglings getting into vinyl. Same concerns about the sides maybe causing jacket damage, but I'll probably put a boxset on each end. My biggest wish would be that both shelves on it were made of the faux-walnut, because they actually look pretty nice.

I don’t know, the only time I slipped in the shower was much more fun than earthquakes or records.

I keep it all confined to my home office. The wife just makes disproving noises when she walks by, but so long as it's in there she's yet to divorce me.

I have the same anxiety that I had at 300 records that I do now at 3000. Might as well give in and party on.

Same. Minus the noises. The SO has her own arts & crafts room that I remain judgment free of as well.

Yeah the record room is in the middle of the house. I pretty much need spousal approval for anything larger than actual vinyl and must keep it tidy, which I do anyhow. I freak out when I can’t find something.

Has anyone put casters on a 2x2 Kallax? Won't have vinyl in it but CDs. I just need to move my Kallax by a small amount to be able to open all the drawers in the space they are in.

I imagine it would be fine if it was just CDs, would maybe do 6 casters instead of 4 so it doesn’t bow in the middle.

Good idea, never thought about that. The Ikea ones are dirt cheap, so it would be easy to get another set.
