It’s time. 😡

Did anyone order this from Bandcamp/ninja tune? Mine was shipped three weeks ago and is mia. No tracking. I’ve contacted them and will probably give it another week but I’m kind of sad.
I picked it up at the local, they had a few. Figured there were so many different variants I'd find it somewhere.

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#192: La Niña de los Peines - La Edad de Oro del Flamenco Vol. IV

#193: Niño Josele - Paz

This record, along with the next one, was a very pleasent discovery during my last trip to Spain. Niño Josele is a contemporary flamenco guitar player and Paco De Lucía protegé. This record is his attempt to delve into jazz, performing the Bill Evans catalogue accompanied by jazz musicians. It is a very beautiful record, one that I would describe as a flamenco musician trying his best to turn his guitar into a jazz piano. Needeless to say, Joselé's DNA shows trhu, as he can't help to sprinkle every performance with flamenco ornaments.

Paz was issued along with his next album, "Española", on a joint vinyl release (Pictured bellow). Both are beautiful records, and I will talk about Española when I get to spin it next.

If anyone's interested, I suggest giving the following track a try. It is the beautiful tune "The Peacocks", written by Stan Getz and performed a bunch of times by Bill Evans. Niño Josele is joined here by Joe Lovano on sax, and its a beautiful and delicate performance by great musicians from worlds appart.
