George Braith ‎– Soul Stream (Blue Note, 1963 First Stereo Pressing)

This was one of the first OG Blue Note's I picked up. Its a fantastic session from Braith. On his debut he focused on his ability to play 2 saxophones at the same time (something which Rahsaan Roland Kirk used to do) but I always found this to be a cheap gimmick which didn't add to the music. When he released this album he dropped the gimmick to focus on the one instrument, and im my opinion it is soooo much better because of it. Throw Grant Green in the mix and it makes for an incredible date.

Always amazed that at the amount of shite thrown at Oasis for their Beatles influences and no one ever picked Blur up for wholesale pilfering of the Kinks prime 60’s albums ..
