Great idea! I will get a proper stack together to work through tomorrow. For now, I will spin the George Braith again as it has some level of importance.
Its actually perfect timing as its my turn to present my Desert Island Disc selections for work (we have a microsoft teams thread where a colleague will post theirs and nominate the next person - usually 2 submissions per week). Narrowing down to just 8 songs is causing me all kinds of stress
One of my favorite records in my collection, and possibly the rarest. 75 people claim to have it on Discogs but I’ve been told they made less than 50. Toad the Wet Sprocket is one of my all time favorite bands, and this is my favorite solo album from lead singer Glen Phillips. I actually bought this album from Glen’s personal collection, and he was kind enough to sign it for me.
Pharoah Sanders / John Hicks / Curtis Lundy / Idris Muhammed - Africa (Tidal Waves Music, 2019 Pressing Limited to 500 copies)
This was one which was on my wantlist for a while. Picked it up in the Resident sale a few weeks ago and its such a fantastic pressing, really great sound with some killer music!
I had high hopes and yet didn't love this album when it came out. A few years later, I am really loving today's listen. There are some great moments on this record. Pistol, Ansel, Ground Walks among them. Jeremiah Green is such a musical drummer, I always love what he does...he and Isaac Brock have some great grooves on this record.
